It's true, the Rockets can't really lose. Even if Bonzi is a disaster they can always just Derek Anderson him. Best case scenario, Wells helps us deep into the playoffs and the Rox are his first choice next summer. Worse case, he shares time with Snyder and Head and bids Houston a fond farewell in a year. Either way, he gives us good depth this season while Head and Snyder continue to learn how to play with YaoMac and he'll definitely be putting in the effort.

I kind of agree with HillBoy that Bonzi doesn't immediately catapult us into the WCF this year. The West has a lot of good teams, and the Mavericks are probably the toughest of all of them. After all, Dirk DID light up Battier in the playoffs. That said, if healthy we certainly won't suck this year. Yao is going to be tearing people UP and T-Mac knows he has more to prove than ever. Personally, I won't consider this season a failure if we don't get into the finals or even if we get bounced in the first round as long as it's an epic series. For me, the basketball season is a months-long soap opera, and the destination isn't as important to me as the ride. Last year the ride sucked ass, but two years ago it was great. We only have two starters left from that team, but the guys we've got ain't slouches. Just because my expectations are modest doesn't mean I'm not excited. In fact, I'm PUMPED.

why is he considered a forward in the article, as it says he will be contesting battier and howard for a starting forward spot....

i thought he would fill in quite nicely at starting sg?

lol... this is already 29 pages.
anyway, even with bonzi its going to be hard to play mavericks or miami.
if we play maverick its goign to be a high scoring game but we have the edge. yao scores on dampier, dirk scores on battier (battier would be useless, ala playoff) terry score on rafer, t-mac score on whoever he wants, mavs bench better then our bench (this realy depends on v-span, snyder, head) bonzi will give us the edge since he can score on most of the dallas team. seriously miami just depends on shaq. he could go downhill like tim duncan, so i don't know that much about them.

When Stro came we raved about his 'potential' while bonzi is a proven baller.. I like my chances with this one :) :)

Do you guys remember Stackhouse, McCants, Ricky Davis, and Kobe Bryant's offense?

    I do.

Posting up David Wesley and shooting turn arounds on him all night long. Well, now the offense has something to worry about, you got to face Shane, Tracy, Bonzi, and Kirk Snyder. All are physically built and have very sound defensive instincts. Our defense on the perimeter became nasty. No more 'bigger' guards destroying us, now we are just as big as them.

As for those quick guards, well with the physicality inside with Battier, Bonzi, Chucky at times, and Yao, I think the guards can press up more..I think we should expect to see Luther and Rafer pressure the guards more, and make them think more on what they should do next, and not which one of these open guys should I pass to next.

Rebounding. Bonzi is our 2nd best rebounder now, and I sincerely hope we start Battier at the 4, and Bonzi at the 2 or with T-Mac aside him. Do I think it's going to happen?

Nope. Bonzi's said it doesnt matter to him if he comes from the bench. That worries me, we all know Van Gundy's affection towards J-Ho.

I think we are still lacking one more thing. A hard-nose big man. Im not saying we need a 'traditional' PF, however I'd like to trade Juwan for someone like Fortson and just keep him inside for about 20mpg. Let him foul, get 5rpg, and be a physical defensive presence.

"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas..........."

I think I just popped a woody ;) I think we can now run a track meet when needed and slow it down and hammer it inside when teams don't let us run. For the first time in a while, I can see teams actually thinking about how they will match up with us.

    Damn straight!

We screw up this year, Bonzi walks, and what do we have left. Another rabble.

Winnin' time, gentleman. 2nd round MINIMUM, is what's vital.
