Just to make a couple of things clear to you.

I like Luther Head, I loved him since we drafted him, infact I was in Mexico when I found out he was drafted, and I was jumping for joy when I found out the news.

I like Juwan Howard, he has given us his all, and is a true proffesional, and although he stole some pair of sunglasses, I still respect who he is, and still appreciate his veteran presense in this team, even if it does make us worst off at times.

Ely, I like Ely because I saw his energy, and although he can be inconsistent, we don't need him for 30 minutes a night, only for like 15-25 minutes.

Can't wait to see all the CD haters posting the "CD is so stupid, ......every good player just falls in his lap, he didn't get any of them, blah, blah, blah....".

    CD knows his business man.

Please stop. You can't sign free agents with a trade excePtion. And CHA doesn't need a trade exception since they are under the cap. They can have cap space or the exception...not BOTH.

Is anyone concern that he only played 52 games in the regular season last year. I hope Rockets don't start trading our other SGs because injuries can happen and we should have a solid plan B, incase of injuries.

Just to clear things up ... Howard did *not* steal the sunglasses. That was cleared up a long time ago, but the constant anti-Howard vitriol around here has made it a favorite jab for his detractors. That said, I think he's a bad fit for this team and wish we could trade his butt elsewhere. :)

If you look above at a couple of my posts, I said a sign and trade. Even if they do have cap, they can still take the exception, doesn't really matter, it's not like it gives them more cap.

I'm not just talking out of my butt here. I'm some stupid rookie that comes along every once in a while.

I don't think he's worth giving up a draft pick for. If we need a six foul stiff to drape on Shaq daddy, we should sign Kemp to a minimum deal or maybe call up 2 sandwiches and see what he is up to these days. We DO NOT need to spend dollars and trade assets on acquiring a backup 5.

Bonzi would not have come to Houston if James were already here. We may not have got Snyder, either. Funny how you can luck into a deeper, more talented roster! Now Van Gundy will truly earn his salary.

Major props to CD and everybody who had a hand in recruiting the same player that just averaged 23 and 12 against the Spurs, that we are getting for chump change.

Can't freakin wait for training camp.......

You are in love with Ely for some crazy reason. He ain't work $4.2 million on this team. It's not like we don't have Deke. We do not need to sink money into a backup 5.

Bonzi would have been staring at the same contract with us or Denver, a minimum deal. And if we had James, we would much more apt to give up that first rounder in a S&T deal with Sac.

Enough with the Ely talk. How about we let this signing settle in first?

I think we should go with what we have now until the trade deadline. At that time we should be able to assess our needs to go for the FINALS.

Is anyone else irritated whenever these dumb posts keep coming about trading JHo and sometimes Rybo in these low bball IQ deals, makes me want to yell through my PC screen "Don't you know anything about bball?!?! Turn in your Rockets Fan Card NOW!"

I still have a bad feeling about this, we're getting a guy who's pissed off that he didn't get the money he wanted and feels stupid for passing up a better deal, he can be great for us with no issues but then we would have the familiar situation of giving a fat contract to someone who might regress after resigning him.

Hell of a signing for that price! For some reason I didn't get near as excited as I usually do about signings when I read it. I am so consumed by the Astros right now I can't even think straight about this.

Now hopefully he comes in and proves his worth, and we can re-sign him next year (you know he's going to opt out). One thing I do know is Bonzi makes it a lot easier to put Battier at PF because of his rebounding skills and post up ability. We really don't need any other inside presence if Bonzi pans out. And of course most of all it gives us that 3rd scorer, and a ton of depth (as well as trade pieces).

    Yao
    Battier
    Mcgrady
    Wells
    Alston

Now that is a starting five that you can honestly look at and say it can contend. No big "if's" like Stromile Swift, and no guys that will break down like Wesley. I've got to see this depth on paper...

    Yao / Mutumbo
    Battier / Howard / Hayes
    Mcgrady / (Battier) / (Wells) / Novak
    Wells / Snyder / Head
    Alston / Spanoulis / Lucas

    :D
