If healthy we're tied with Boston. Bynum too unproven. Spurs is great, but two pint sized guards. I give us the edge just because our players are bigger.

I think Bynum is going to become one of the most disappointing prospects, because this guy is really injury prone.

I hope the lakers don´t came up with a trade for this guy for another all star because i won´t believe it.

About the trios i am ok with Celtics and SA at the top, Rings have to be respected and i think that if Ginobili was healthy last season this two trios would have made a well played final. (something it wasn´t)

Top 3 centers in the league today:

    1. Yao
    2. Howard
    3. Kaman

Bynum looked good right before his injury and if he can keep it up next season, he has a chance to be in the top 3.

LOL. Yes, they also talked about what a worthless POS Artest is. It's funny that not that long ago Lakers were soooo interested in trading for him.

As far as Bynum and his potential go, did we hear pretty much the same thing about Kandiman. We all know how that turned out.

The most under rated trio is Bosh - J. O'Neal - Calderon.

The best POTENTIAL trio is Yao - Artest - McGrady....they are all in their prime years, other than T-bac, sorry that should read T-Mac. :D

The Celtic trio is too old to do it again.....

I like that trio...but they might be a little to soft...The most aggresive Ive seen JO was when he punched that fat little piston fan...Bosh and Jose are also very much finese players. But they might play really well together, lets wait in see. I think that one could go either way.

I love how they underrate the team. I would put our big 3 second only to Boston and thats a close one.

LA is not better. I like how the article even points out that bynum has a total of a solid three weeks before the injury. Wow. Talk about an ignorant media. I guess Berkman should get greatest player of all time due to his great start. bynum is not a top three center. Sorry. He may get there, but is not there yet.

Tracy is not better than kobe, but is in his league. Yao is far better than the next two on the fakers. Artest and gasol are comparable. I would take Artest due to his passion and intensity.

I don't know how the season will pan out, but I hope against hope that we win it all if for nothing else than to hear all the doubters and nay-sayers try to back pedal.

The spurs have a solid team and their big 3 is getting older.

Also how is it, we have to wait and see how Ron fits while bynum is a shoe-in hall of famer?

I'd put Deron Williams ahead of all the players you mentioned before him.

deron is def. a top 10 player. but amare and melo have no business being up there. i'm sure he saw how melo helped his team in the playoffs last yr and basically choked/quit.

Top 3 Centers going into this season (assuming healthy)
    1. Dwight Howard
    2. Yao Ming
    3. Andrew Bynum
Kaman had a nice statisitical year with Brand gone and Camby gets weakside blocks, they're 2nd tier centers along with Chandler, Bogut, and Shaq. I agree that the Bynum hype was a bit premature and he still needs to prove himself after the injury, but you would be hard-pressed to find GMs that would take those 2 guys (or any other center) over the 3 listed above on their team. I dislike the Lakers as much as everyone else here, but don't let emotions get in the way of objectivity.

I wouldn't put Dwight Howard up there yet. Yao has literally owned Dwight Howard in his last few meetings. There is also no exception for the Magic to lose to pistons 4-1. They even lost to pistons at home without Billups.

If Dwight Howard is not an amazing dunking (which gives him a lot of hype), he would be a lesser version of the young Shaq. There is no doubt that Howard is a better rebounding than Yao due to his atheletism. But offensively and defensively, Yao is still better than Dwight. Dwight is insanely limited on offense, he has very low range, and usually only finishes up with a dunk. But since he is not as strong as the young shaq, he cannot simply just power his way through any center in the league.

As for Andrew Bynum..... Not a top 3 DEFINATELY. Kaman, Bogut etc. are all better centers than him. Hell if Amare Stoudamire was still playing at center, he'd be a better player than Bynum. Bynum is top 5 at MOST at center position.

    I concur with flamingdts.

Yao is the best center in the league. I do like Dwight's potential though.

I do find it interesting that whenever people bring Yao up as the best center people say that there is no one at that position these days. We can all remember how much comp Shaq had in his prime.

Disagree. Based on potential play alone, Bynum would be top 3. While I agree it's too early to cement him as one yet, I do think for rankings' sake that he should be in the top 3 discussions.

Anybody who watched him before he went down can tell you that. He looked far more fluid and in control than Kaman or Bogut ever did. And IMO, if say, Kobe was hurt at that time, you'd see Bynum far surpass the numbers Kaman put up while Brand was out.

Dude put up 17,10 and 2 while playing next to a high-volume shooter and number one option in Kobe. It just eerily reminds me of that '04-'05 season when Yao played with a similar Tmac.
