I've seen you're post, you always call people idiots. After this, I don't think you have the right to call ANYBODY any names because this is the epitome of foolishness.
Can someone post the BSPN Insider article on the league's best help defenders with length, lateral quickness, and three-point range?
The coaching staff made him a SG which he is not. He tried it out and it didn't work. He's been great now. takes 1/3 of the the shots now. Get over your hate. It's over now.
Ariza was only doing what the coaching staff told him to although that doesn't defend some of the shots he took. I'm surprised Brooks wasn't up on the list somewhere.
yeah, he has definitely not been playing like he did in LA. he needs to keep his shots down, and take that role of a role player with above average defense. he can't create shots for himself nor for anyone else. he looks awkward trying to get to the rack. AB, Martin, Scola should be taking the shots, while Ariza and Battier spot up.
Brooks has decent enough efficiency to avoid being called a "chucker." He shoots a lot, but that's what the team needs him to do.
That's only because Martin and Brooks are dominating the ball most of the time, causing Ariza to not get as many shot attempts or touches as he did early on this season...
I know Mike James only played 37 seconds this year and Von Wafer was in a different league but still...
Yeah a quick comb through of the stats. And every single player description is nothing but stats A "gunner" to me doesnt always have a negative connotation. Reggie Miller was a gunner but he was a maker. Hollinger probably didnt want to pile on players TOO bad. "Chucker" is a fitting description everyone is most familiar with, but I guess gunner will do. Larry Hughes is puzzling. He had ability to be like a smaller Joe Johnson. He's just the poster child of ESPN era athletic wing player with more style than substance.
Re-read the bit on Ariza. This line clearly comes from watching Ariza play, not from looking at stats:
Trevor is pitiful with the ball, he can't dribble has no moves to get by anyone on the break, it is truly sad. I mean how does a guy with little fundamental skill get a MLE contract? Just amazing...and we are stuck with this albatross for 4 more years....YIPPEEE !!! DD
Well, Houston needs players like Trevor, YM, and a shot-blocking PF to complement Martin, Brooks, Budinger, and Scola; and a player like Martin to complement Trevor, Battier, and Lowry.
No, it means now that Martin is here Ariza doesn't have to play out of position and can finally go back to his role of being a 3rd/4th option. He is by far my favorite Rocket but I feel like I need to defend him everytime someone spreads the hate. Next season he will have more value playing behind Yao, Brooks, Martin, Scola (?), Lowry (?), or maybe Bosh (?).
