Sounds like a made up story to me. Anyone have background on the reporter's Turkish speaking ability? Bring on the TWIN TOWERS! Asik Howard Parsons Harden Lin Remember, Howard will not be playing 2-4 min. out in the final quarter if it's close and he doesn't improve his FTs. Howard's career high was shooting 60% two seasons ago.
They are men. They are rich. Professional sports is a business. No team would ever pass on a massive talent upgrade just because they didn't want to hurt the feelings of a starter. Asik will probably be traded for a four. Lin will probably be traded for assets, so Beverly can start.
I think Asik will still get plenty of playing time. He won't be totally removed from the game plan. I think he and Howard could play together for stretches of the games. I'm sure McHale will try that out in training camp. If we run PnR with one of them the other just camps down low outside the lane, waiting for the dish from the penetrating G.
My sources tell me that an Omer Asik for DeMarcus Cousins trade is in the mix... May include Fredette, J.T. or see the return of CarlHerrara...ooops, I mean 2Pat. Shhhhhhh, don't tell anyone. Spoiler
Well Josh Smith is off the radar now that he signed w/ the Pistons for 4 year 56 million.... LMA please in a ST or some 2014 draft picks from someone like the Pelicans
Morey is not going to get rid of Asik that easy. Asik had a MONSTER season. I see the Rockets at the very least try to play Dwight and Omer together. That may not look like an offensive firepower combo (although Dwight is a low post beast of course) but realize that together they could probably own many many offensive rebounds between them. offensive putbacks = easy points. And since we play a lot of shooters, and shooters generally shoot around 45 percent meaning they still miss more than they make, rebounders will definitely be a good idea to have with them.
If true, what a b****. You were going to be traded any way. If not, embrace the team concept and do your job - sissy.
Keep Asik and see how they do next to each other. If bad, trade Asik. At least Dwight can possibly teach Asik how to finish properly at the basket. Geez.
We have future picks, we have Asik, we have one young PF to give up. Since we signed Casspi and Cisco I feel trading Asik is no longer urgent - we can take our time, see how it works and then trade him at the right time. But make no mistake about it - we can't keep him if we are serious at taking the best shot at a title in these next 3 years. Equally important, the dude deserves to start somewhere and continue his impressive development. He showed tremendous promise last season in his offensive game and physical fitness. We would be almost wrecking that here. Trading Asik is best for him and best for us. We need to take an honest shot at the title without being emotion about someone who is understandably difficult to give up as a player and a teammate.
You are always wrong, so I am looking forward to seeing twin towers of Howard and Asik on our championship run.

Well of course he is. He's human. One of the reasons he signed with Houston in the first place was to establish himself in a starting role and show the league wht he could do. Now coming off his best season he's demoted to a backup role because we signed the best center in the league...anyone would be bummed. Hopefully he realizes that he'll get another chance to start soon enough, and in the meantime, he's got a chance at a ring.
