I would prefer we sign Wafer for a small contract....over a long one for Ariza.....true. Wafer for $2 million a year for 2 years is better than Ariza for $33 million over 5 years, IMO. DD
If he were to back out, why wait until now to do so? the longer he waits, the worse it will get for him if he does back out
I'm not mad at him at all because he hasn't signed anything. I'm sure we promised him that he would be a key piece of our rebuilding. If somehow LeBron decided he wanted to be here next year and we S&T'd him to Cleveland then no one here would say a thing. We always say folks words are important, but we never complain when teams break their promises. Personally, I don't see why he would choose Houston over Cleveland if he believes LeBron is there for the long-term.
Agreed, unless there's a major difference between the two's desire to be a Rocket. Pouting Wafer isn't worth much more than the league minimum, if that.
Yes, this isnt my login Im using my friends since I dont have an account with clutch fans. I write part time for the NBA, and I heard reports out of Los Angeles that he was thinking about bolting, that the meeting from Cleveland officials to LA was for Ariza. I just wanted to verify the information.
Ok. I guess I have to take your word. If you don't mind, message me through board. I am interested in knowing exactly who you are and I'll read your stuff in the future. Thanks
Well this is why you're not a GM. There is a reason why Colangelo offered even more $ than us and the Cavs wanted him too at the same price, correct? Wafer's upside is nowhere near Ariza's. Wafer doesn't play D and Ariza is already one of the best peremiter defenders. Just let it go.
Agreed, DD you think the Rockets overpaid... but other teams offered more...Rockets got Ariza at a good price..
So far, the Rockets have nothing, let's see if he signs here or takes the cash and goes to a better situation for his game. DD
I agree. Ariza is a better defender, but Von is a better offensive player. Ariza is quite overrated on this board.
Not by everyone....I mean.....less than 10 ppg........heck Scola should be getting $10 million then..... I don't think a lot of people look at how his signing would effect a lot of upcomming free agents on the Rockets. DD
yep, and just because he plays defense does not mean he is a great defender. 5 years is a hell of a long time for a pretty unproven guy
Trevor is Shane's EVENTUAL REPLACEMENT people. Next year is a wash and then his contract is up in a year. MLE for the next Shane Battier is solid. He's TWENTY FOUR with room to grow. AS IS, he's one of the best peremiter defenders in the league. You NEED players like Trevor to be a good ballclub. Maybe not next year, but if we trade Shane for pieces or land a big time FA in 2010, it's a GOOD FIT. He'll hit his prime under contract and at a reasonable price.
How many HR's has Morey hit as opposed to striking out? Draft day picks, trades, FA signings. If he thinks Trevor is worth it, then, let's give him the benefit of the doubt people. Morey > DD and it's not close
