    - more assets (multiple picks + decent young players + Martin/Scola)
    - worse draft = teams more willing to deal
    - us truly rebuilding instead of trying to contend

I'm hoping those things allow us to get a deal done.

WTF did I just read about us trading PatPat and Lee for the #2 pick?!? Said ESPN was reporting it? Did Clutch pull it because it was unconfirmed?

Looks like the thread was completely removed, so I went to ESPN and don't see anything about it. Maybe a commentator/so called expert said it would make sense and some rookie on the board ran with it.

I dont think Minny is going to give up the #2 without somebody giving up some semi allstars and some future 1st rounders. Rockets probably wont get that chance. It should be fun to watch the deals if any. I like Kanter alot.

I posted it from a chat i heard on espn, and clearly stated it WOULD be a good deal imo.. everybody took it as if it had already happened...

Got to be more careful. Mistakes happen though. As far as the trade rumor goes, i would do it. I would hate giving up Pats, but that would be a steal, imo.

Your title made it seem like it was already a done deal. It was obviously misleading.

I just don't see Martin (plus picks) being traded for Kanter or Derrick Williams. I don't see how they could be valued over him (not necessarily MY opinion, just what I believe the front office thinks), even as bad as we need a center.

The only reason would be if we are truly rebuilding. We would be terrible next year (no offense), so we'd net a pretty high lottery pick. It would also clear up Martin's salary and give us a lot of room to add salary and lure in a superstar that way. But I don't think this is what Morey is aiming at.

I think the mods completely removed it, but the thread title was something like
"[ESPN] Rockets Trade Pattterson and Lee to Minnesota for #2 Pick"
When I clicked the link, it was dead. As you can imagine, pretty official looking.

if you only read the title then yes, it would be misleading... i figured ppl would read the message as well...

i guess a more appropiate title would have been [ESPN] rockets trade scenario Pattterson and Lee to Minnesota for #2 Pick? toughts...

More appropriate would have been to not create a new thread over a random trade scenario from an ESPN chat. It could have gone in the general draft thread if you want to share it with others.

If its a legitimate rumor that talks are actually being discussed, then a title like this would be more appropriate:

"[ESPN] Rumor: Rockets Discussing Trade for #2 Involving Patterson" -- something like that.

The title should reflect the content of the thread. Otherwise you're wasting the time of people who would otherwise not bother clicking into it. That's why your thread was locked and why your status was demoted.

So Morey is worried what some fans think about his efforts? This is so childish.
