60/40? I'll take that chance on Whiteside.

    No way Whiteside's anywhere close to 60/40. That 60% likely splits into 5% star, 5% Bogut-lite, 20% Dalember/Prizbilla-ish, 30% good backup.

I personally love Cousins to death, and wouldn't mind giving up a lot to move up for him. And even with him, I wouldn't go higher than 20-30% stardom.

I don't see how anyone can proclaim with any confidence how good or bad a prospect will be.

Their fear of loss is greater than their desire to gain.

I'd love to get Patterson here. He is:

Shane Battier's brains inside a more defensive Carl Landry.

    Making Battier tradeable.

Are you implying you'll be okay with some others to run the Rockets? ;)

If I was running the Rockets, my first order of business would be to appoint Daryl Morey as the GM. I'd just take a "VP of Player Personnel" title, take part in the "war room" sessions, and chime in with my opinion. But in the end, I'll give Morey final say.

Wait, am I the owner in this situation???

Thought is simple: #14 pick will not be a Rock. DM the GM will move up; or DM the GM will move down. The single only way #14 is a Rocket is if someone sincerely, truly coveted falls. (In most years someone takes the tumble, but still - #14 pick will not be a Rock.)

If you were running the Rox would you be looking, on 6/24 (and/or) or 7/1 to hit the grand slam home run? I would as I believe this is a very nice roster bereft of Mr Killer, Mr Grand Slam Home Run Hitter.

Agreed, no reason to stay at 14 if DM believes he can get the same value later.

Patterson is who I was thinking was the most realistic, value pick we could get at #14.
