As long as they can keep the recruiting talk down to a minimum, I don't mind them talking football or baseball or even golf.

"MAYbe someday 610 will streaM. A Yankee would hope. MAY I ask you a question? Do you want us to streaM? A Yes will suffice. There are certain things that I MAY not say. A certain target time frame that MAY be a 90% go."

Yankee? Target? Target Center? Minnesota? 90%?

Must be July 26th! When the Yankees play the Minnesota Twins. Randy Johnson will be at 90%, and end up being lit up by Torii Hunter. Hunter will take a Chance and steal second. Get it? Chance? It's a sign for Mr. McClain to flip the switch, to 90% capacity..to see if they can handle the bandwidth.

i don't doubt that...but it seems incredibly out of place on a station that touts themselves as a sports radio station.

He might be good. Hell he may be great. But I don't listen to sports radio stations for home improvement. That's what 700 and 740 are for.

This (amongst other reasons) is why I boycott 610.

I don't get any tv reception at my apartment so I listen to all of the Rockets games on 610 that I don't catch at the bar. Automatically, that makes them tops by far. They have good people working on the games and I really like the opposing coach's corner that they do.

Otherwise, I don't listen to sportstalk radio. I'm not a big fan of football, golf, college sports or the American League, so about 90% of talk radio is crap I don't want to hear about. I do like Matt and Adam, however, especially the Rockets' post-game call-in show. The morning guys are alright and I really like the Jon Barry show, of course, but again I'm not a huge sports fan outside the NBA and Astros so they tend to talk quite a bit about crap I don't care about.

Rome is terrible. 610's afternoon guys I really don't care for, either. The contractor guy that comes on in the mornings on weekends is fun to listen to for a few minutes, but after I hit that snooze button I'm done with him.

I don't know what it is about those two that rub me the wrong way, I think it is more Marc then both of them. I guess I lost all respect for them when they were talking about major rock acts that can still sell out shows... they obviously had no idea what the hell they were talking about and wouldn't let anyone else have a word in otherwise, lol. Seriously though... I just can't get into two Yanks talking about Houston sports. I think Dave & Rich have better chemistry then Marc & Rich.

    It's basically dumb versus dumber.

610 - I like Lance, Harbison, and Wexler, but Marc, Rich, Matt (aka Lil Romey), and Granato are awful. I prefer Sporting News Radio to ESPN for national talk. Rome is just torture.

790 - Only find CP interesting. Never cared for ESPN radio.

I really don't see how anyone can listen to Rich and Marc exclusively. They have gotten better, but neither one of them has much substance. With Charlie and Rich you had the perfect combo. I also agree its hard to listen to one man shows exclusively but I listen to Charlie mostly and flip to Marc and Rich sometimes. The morning show still has no competition for most of their time on the air but Mike and Mike's show is pretty good. Then they flip to those Fox guys and you might as well be listening to Dallas Sports Talk.

On the weekend its almost all exclusive ESPN radio and Kiper's show is my favorite of the week. Too bad he doesn't come on Sundays when it is just his co-host I believe. The Beno(sp) Cook segment is outstanding

Can't you Tom Tynan haters get by without just 3 hours of sports talk on the weekend mornings? If you just have to have sports talk, can't you get by with ESPN radio for those 3 hours? Or could you go to Sportingnews.com to get their streaming show?

I don't care if they say "all sports, all the time", I still like Tynan. I usually switch back and forth between he and 950's The Gardenline anyway. Those national guys on the weekend mornings aren't exactly that riveting.
