ESPN 710: Stephen A. Smith rips the Lakers for the Lamar Odom deal...

    doesn't excuse dumping salary like a Lamar Odom to the team that sweeps you !

    Unless there's a larger point we're all missing, this was a stupid trade.

    Three straight NBA Finals appearances in the years before. This team was championship level with complete zero's playing at PG and SF.

    Dumping Odom in dubious fashion to the reigning champions was not the way to do it.

    This would be like the Steelers giving Mike Wallace to the Packers.

    Odom is 32 years old and we have enough distractions already the longer the Lakers wait the harder it will be to find a taker for him. He is going to decline and he will not come close to the numbers he put up last year (especially 3% which was flukey). He always has trouble adjusting to new roles and takes a while. If i remember correctly he lost his first 9 games he played in a Heat uniform after leaving the Clippers. He "can" do a lot of things thats the problem with him but he puts it all together maybe 10 games out of 82, good luck to Mavs dealing with a ridiculously talented player who lacks the menatily and composure to be reliable. Hes their problem now

    SAS is refreshing to listen to compared to many of the other boring sports guys out there on the air.
