i'd do it if nothing more than to regain financial freedom. Chris Paul as the highest paid player on this team is preposterous.

LAL has that No. 4 pick. Anyone listed AFTER that is a worthy trade partner because Houston isn't going to draft anyone. If CP3 is going to leave, then that leaves TOO big a void on offense and defense around the perimeter.

That means we would basically be shopping the LAL pick for them so that we can get a star. This is going to be like having that Toronto pick which helped us get Harden in the first place the way I see it.

In that case, who is behind LAL in the draft AND has a TOP TIER player?
    CLE-No, Love?
    PHX-No
    CHI-Porter
ATL-No, but could combine their 2 picks (8,10) to move up to use, and that DOUBLES our assets to trade...=)
    WAS-YES, Beal
    MIN-No
    CHA-Yes, Kemba?
    MIA-No, ?Winslow?
BOS-Yes, Kyrie @pg makes the best backcourt EVER, would have to opt into his last yr on contract, and BOS could combine their 2 picks (8,10) to move up to use, and that DOUBLES our draft assets...=)
WAS-YES, Beal, but Harden plays pg again
    DET-Griffin
    ORL-No
    BKN-No
    IND-No

Now, here's my favorite idea if none of these happen:
    HOU gets AD
    LAL gets CP3
NOP gets LAL #4 AND a resigned (insert players' names here), so they can pair Mt. Zion with DeAndre Hunter and have a tandem for all time.

We're an over the cap team. It wouldn't matter if Paul got paid $15 mil less.

If Rockets trade cp3 to the Lakers, wat honestly could we get back ,i believe cp3 declining fast and would be ecstatic to get kuzma who is on the verge to be a all star soon.
Also wat u guys think about Capela +clark +2nd rd for james jhonson and Winslow?

We wonuldn't get Kuzma imo, probably Lonzo.

Wouldn't trade Capela, Clark and picks for Winslow and an old player on a bad contract, JJ had a pretty bad season.

Nobody is getting Rockets out of CP3 contract on the cheap.

Ok I'd do it if for nothing else to get an over the hill, cap leech off the team and infuse the roster with youth and optimism!

If we had to trade Paul to the lakers:

    Lakers get: Paul
    Pelicans get: Ball
    Rockets get: Holiday
If we can afford to resign him. I'm afraid that harden will go back to the point, ego at the 2 and either house or Gerald at the 3.

honestly I have no faith that Tillman will spend money to be competitive. if we have another cost cutting summer like last year, I wouldn't be surprised to see James ask for a trade.

Pelicans wouldn't but if they did, why wouldn't the Lakers take Holiday for themselves?

That's not what Austin Rivers was? I'm just confused by this sentiment (and I've seen a lot of people posting it) because I think between Harden, Paul, Rivers and Gordon we probably had the deepest guard slots in the league. Not really sure how we improve on that.

We can't . We can only hope that a downgrade there means that we spent money getting an upgrade somewhere else .

Even in the scenario we trade CP3 : Harden , Gordon , and Rivers is a really strong guard trio .

So we are super strong there

Just like when nobody would take Ryan Anderson.

Why do you think Paul will be better next year?

To be fair the Rockets had to pay to get that contract off the books.

Only way for it to make sense, which doesn’t mean it has any chance of happening, is for first, Lakers have to strike out on Jimmy, Kawhi, Durant, Irving and also, AD and other trade candidates like Beal get traded elsewhere or stay put. If all that happens, Lakers will still have tons of cap space, so they could trade for CP3 AND Capela with only giving up a couple of their assets. This would give Lebron two starters to ball alongside. That would give Houston cap space and a trade asset or two, but unfortunately, all big names will have been signed elsewhere by then, so that brings it back to a probability close to zero, unless things are that bad with CP3 in Houston.

I love this idea. With Winslow and tucker on court together they’d be top notch defensively.
