Maybe they're following the Wing + Center recipe that worked so well for the Rockets from 04-08.... Wait....
Funny, but... when you're that rich & pampered you probably don't know what the inside of a kitchen looks like.
Well, duh! I guess you would be. This alleged deal is far better than you could have reasonably hoped for. Congratulations!
Hey congrats Nuggs for your teaming doing what Cleveland or Toronto could not do and that is still make the playoffs and compete by giving up your franchise player.
Well yeah, they kinda' just raped the nets. The real winners here are Denver and the Bobcats. For the Nets its somewhat risky but they can still pull it off if the assets they get pan out. For Utah its somewhat of a lateral move: Bobcats: lose DJ Augustin, Boris Diaw but get Devin Harris Denver: Lose Melo, but get Favors (!!!), the pick and Andrei Kirilenko Utah: lose Kirilenko, but get Quinton Ross and Boris Diaw Nets: lose pick, Devin Harris, Favors but get Carmelo Antony Conclusion: Billy King is an absolute moron. Devin Harris-Favors-Lopez is a good core to build on, and next year they would have been able to add to that core. Instead, he went all in on a guy he shouldn't have gone all in on. Of course with that said, the Nets don't take a big hit in the short term. If DJ Augustin pans out, they wouldn't feel anything, as you'll have a solid lineup of: Lopez Dunleavy Jr Melo Morrow (extremely underrated IMHO) Augustin ^That's enough to get into the playoffs in the leastern conference. But if you were building long term this is definitely not the way to go. For Denver, if done this trade will be an ass-raping that makes anything DM has done pale in comparison, no wonder our resident nuggets poster is jumping for joy. They get Favors as a big thank you to build around together with Ty Lawson, and in 2012 they'll have 2 first rounders, one of which is a lottery pick. The kicker is that Kirilenko will actually do most of the stuff Melo does on that team. Expect the Nuggets not to skip a beat provided Kirilenko's healthy.
Dunleavy? I think you mean Murphy. Either way, the Nets are stupid to do that trade, even with a Melo extension.
I don't get it...if the nuggets want to keep Carmelo so bad then why don't they trade the older veterans like Martin, billups, anderson, Carter an trade with a young team like the thunder so they can build around the young core of Lawson aaflalo Anthony nene and smith or they can package them with smith to a team that lacks in guard/forward.
ABSURD comment considering the guy has been a winner at every level he has ever played basketball at.
