I thought the same thing...It was pretty good and now have a better understanding/background on what things were conflicting/challenging him...wow,his wife really stuck through the thick and thin of things...that's either true love or glutton for punishment...
This was really good. I'm glady Ricky has gotten his life back in order. Those family problems when he was young was probably extremely traumatic to him and caused his anxiety issues.
One thing that got me was his carries in 2003 and 2004. They said he carried the ball like 770 times in 2 years. That's freaking ridiculous, and I cant blame him for just saying "**** this," and leaving. (along with his other issues) Wandstedt ran him into the ground and decided that every back should be treated like earl campbell.
Really interesting documentary. When they asked him what his 4th failed test was for, did anyone else think it was obviously steroids? when the narrator was saying, "well, you were 20 pounds lighter and avoiding contact" he was nodding, then when he went to the amphetamine route he said no.
i thought about that too. His answer was "it wasnt like that at all", if i remember corretly. BUt he doesnt seem like the type to do something that is that harmful to your body. The only other thing i could think of would be shrooms. Interesting story though. Some of those images of him in that house were..i dont know...it was just weird to see a person like that.
thought it was a great film ricky looks to have been portrayed badly by the media no excuse for his weed issues but the guy seems to have a much better head on his shoulders than most people. i havent seen too many of these 30 for 30 films but the ones that i have seen have been very well done and good. i need to go back and try to watch the others when i get some time.
I agree, plus, if he did do steroids, wouldn't it be easier to just say it was weed instead of saying that it wasn't? If it was actually roids that failed that drug test but he goes around saying that it was weed, EVERYONE will believe him. This leads me to believe that it was not weed, but it was definitely not steroids.
I don't think I would agree with him having "a much better head on his shoulders than most people." I won't argue with him leaving after Wandstedt ran him into the ground, or trying to find his happiness, or smoking week ... I mean he obviously has/had a lot of personal issues, probably stemming from his childhood. The part that gets me was the having three kids with three women, all in separate parts of the country ... then just upping and leaving the country on all of them, while at the same time foregoing millions of dollars that would help support them. That was just pure irresponsibility and zero accountability. I am glad that he has seemingly gotten his head straight, and came back to marry the girl and become a family ... even when nobody would have blamed her for shutting him out of her life.
Google tells me you mean Rickey Henderson. If so, you thought this was about some old leftfielder? Never heard of him.
