Rumor has it, Chargers want a draft pick since they arent gonna resign him in the offseason and the comp pick they get wont be as good. He would only be here for the rest of the season probably but we need some stability at the safety position and he would bring it. Its not like rick smith is going to actually draft anyone of value anyway. I think a 6th might get him. Crazy to think we still have a chance at the division.
Pull the trigger. Have Rick do what he does best and throw draft picks at them like they're confetti.
One of the best right now but this team has to look to the future. If he's willing to negotiate a deal, bring him in. My guess is he's looking for a ring so he'll want to go to a contender.
I wanted him so bad. Moreso than QB, safety has been a position this franchise has flat out ignored since it's inception. Ed Reed has been the only (token) attempt to address it and we all know how that turned out.
Had a great safety in the making, but they let go of Glover Quin. Seems like he's been doing very well in Detroit.
Good one, forgot about Manning. Glover was drafted as a CB then converted to safety IIRC. Just as he started to play well at safety....we let him walk....so we could sign...Ed Reed....
I've always been a big fan of Weddle. Would take him on this team even now, although I don't think winning is in our best interest this year.
So many teams are bad this season, I'm starting to think they'll have to be really bad to be able to pick high enough to get their QB. sigh.
Don't worry, there's not top tier QB talent in this class anyway. Maybe someone will reach on one, but no QB in this class should be picked in the top 10.
Weddle might give us 1 more win. I don't see him being a difference maker other than making us lose games by less than we would have.

The problem with the Texans is that they are not aggressive in pursuing great established talent watched Jimmy Graham get traded for a center and 1st round pick. Vernon Davis just went to Denver for pennies... Jared Allen got traded to Carolina for a late round pick.. Why were we not in the mix for these players we cant seem to draft anyway so these late round picks are irrelevant to our team...
