Iverson was a way better scorer than Brooks will ever be and Snow is 6'3" and which made it easier for him to guard 2s.

    What??

Brooks can barely get off the bench and play over 25 minutes a game nowadays.

    Iverson???

Atleast Iverson played the passing lanes well.

    Brooks is complete awful defensively.

i can see the comparison b/c they are undersized at their positions and are still effective but AI is a future HOFer. dude was dropping 30 point games his rookie year. He burned MJ (albeit an aging MJ). He was punking the whole league when he came in. much like Blake Griffin is doing now.

comparing Aaron Brooks to Allen Iverson is like comparing Chuck Hayes to Hakeem Olajuwon. (and I'm a big AB/Chuckwagon fan)

r****ded conclusion to a post. AI took nearly 10 more shots a game than Brooks usually. That's the reason for his gaudy ppg numbers.

so you'd rather have AB over AI in his prime b/c AI took more shots? how many shot attempts did MJ have to get his "gaudy" numbers or any star wing player for that matter? AI dominated games consistently and was a defensive threat not a liability.

anyway, i see what the OP is saying and I agree that AB is pretty effective at the 2 with Lowry running point.

Compare the salaries, and yes I'd take Brooks any day. AI was not an efficient scorer, that's really not up for debate.

Brooks is actually a better shooter than Iverson. Iverson is better at getting to the rim and making difficult shots.

Lowry is a much better offensive player than Snow.

Brooks-Lowry is better on offense. Iverson-Snow is better on defense.

 Iverson alone was a better scorer than the Brooks-Lowry combo.

Only if basketball was a one-man game.

So profound that it needed to be posted twice!

I get what you're trying to say but Lowry can't defend SG's on a full-time basis. Plus, I'd like to think of Brooks as more of a Jason Terry type that plays off of the star(s) rather than somebody that needs 20-25 shots per game. If we do it that way we're taking away touches from Scola and Martin.

Well, take into consideration that Iverson demands a double team and defenses will collapse on him when he drives. (take away his selfish mentality) you have a lot of open shooters. him (in his prime) on the rockets would be more valuable than a brooks/lowry combo. but this discussion has derailed this thread enough.

Stop comparing AB to AI. We need an inception planted in other team's GM's minds that AB can EASILY score 25 ppg in order to trade him.
