I guess you are saying Lowry is better than Snow. I agree with a grin.
But Lowry is the Robin in your scenario. I just don't think AB can be AI, unstoppable w/ the ball in his hands. More often than not, you see AB gets run to the traffic, leaves his feet w/ a wild pass.
AB, instant offense off the bench sounds good to me.

You can't compare a future Hall of Fame player with Brooks. Brooks can be a good player, but he will never be a great player.

    AI Career Averages
    Points 26.7
    Assists 6.2
    Steals 2.2

    AB Career Averages
    Points 13
    Assists 3.6
    Steals .6

Brooks has proven that he can get you 20 a game at the PG spot.

I would like to see what he could do without that responsibility.

I'm not saying he is Allen Iverson, but I absolutely believe that he could consistently be at 25-26-27 ppg...

    Take off the shackles!

Yeah, the Iverson Brooks comparison is way too unrealistic

We have kinda seen that already. He is a shade or two below elite PGs in the league. You are still in your head w/ some wishful thinking. Those numbers don't pass the laugh test.

Really? You don't thing Brooks could average 26 a game If he was a SG?

With no responsibilities but to score the heck out of the basketball?

I think he has top 5 quickness, and I think he is a top 5 shooter.

I think he could easily average 25-26-27 ppg...

Dude, I need smoke whatever you are smoking.

Who's averaging 25-26-27 ppg in this league right now. You think AB belongs to that group on an efficient basis.

Well, I also wish AB could EASILY average 26 ppg.

Haha fair enough. I am a fanatic after all... :)

Really though, I think we would be unguardable with SGs trying to cover Brooks or Lowry.

Basically, I think Lowry and Brooks can defend big guards better than big guards can defend Mighty Mouse 1 & 2...

    No, simply no!

Allen Iverson was an 'MVP', who could avg. 30+ ppg, and was capable of taking over a game just by his will alone. Another BIG difference was that Iverson was a "capable" playmaker, for the majority of his career he averaged around '7 assist per game. He may not have always been a willing passer, but he was a capable passer, not the same story for AB. I mean overall the guy was just in a whole another stratus sphere than Aaron Brooks...

Plus A.I. 'in his prime' was the best "guard" in the league... Not the case for Aaron Brooks, who has to deal with the likes of Derrick Rose, Russell Westbrook, Deron Williams, Rajon Rondo, Chris Paul, John Wall, Kyrie Irving(projected #1 pick 2011), Ricky Rubio(coming over next season), etc..

I mean seriously there is no way in hell Aaron Brooks can even compare to Iverson, outside of their similar size and shooting ability...

    ------

A more suitable comparison for Aaron Brooks is Monte Ellis, who has PG's body with the mentality of a SG... only that Aaron is smaller and can't finish at the rim as well as Monte Ellis... :p

I am mind boggled that you think moving AB from a scoring PG to a SG is somehow "unshackling him".

I really dont understand the point of this thread.

Iverson just shot a lot. Brooks was a more efficient scorer last year than Iverson ever was in Philadelphia.

Maybe. So you would either trade Martin or sit him? I don't think Martin can play 3 as a starter.

Martin is way more efficient than Brooks.

I think it's a matter of who's hot. When Martin is hot, put him in with Lowry. If Brooks is hot, put him in with Lowry.

B/c Kyle isn't Chuck. Chuck is a rare kind of player.

    Not a good comparison

I seriously doubt he'd get over 25. He's not willing to take punishment like AI did. Plus, what made AI great was his ability to go even beyond that and into the 30s and 40s at times. Brooks doesn't have the ability to do it as much. AI also averaged more assists, while scoring much more. It's not realistic to expect our offense to be the same, while "unleashing" brooks for more points and more assists. He'd disrupt the offense and have to freeze out others unconsciously. What AI did worked because he was on a team that needed all that from one guy. Houston doesn't need it.

Eric Snow was 6'3,6'4 vs 6'0 lowry. Lowry cant guard those sg's on a fulltime basis either. I see what you're trying to say,but the rockets are just going to have to make a decision on them. The Suns had to trade nash because they had Kidd. The knicks traded strickland because they had jackson. If you have 2 good players at the same position around the same age,u just have to trade one.

I think Brooks is a perfect 6th man type player, who can drop anywhere from 15 to 25 off the bench anytime we need him.

Martin is definitely better scorer than Brooks. If it's about getting 30 points from some player then I would rather have Martin.

Brooks is perfect 6th man (Until he can become a better PG) - I hope we can give him a role like Jamal crawford or Jason terry. Brooks is just too good of a shooter to let go. He can win so many games for us by himself if we use him right way.

are you talking about the philipino league where the tallest players allowed are 6'6?

Iverson is a once in a generation player, who the hell is brooks when it comes to star players
