    1. We have played our very best basketball with these two guys on the floor at the same time. In the regular season, and in the playoffs, for the last several years, this tandem has gotten it done.
    2. Lowry is capable of guarding SG's full time. This all works because of his ability to stick his nose in there and do the dirty work. His rebounds, steals and post defense are elite, even for a SG. He might even be better, ala Chuck Hayes, at guarding bigger players than guys his own size. "Tree stump syndrome"
    3. Take the shackles off of Aaron Brooks. He can score 30 points a game. Give him the green light to shoot 20-25 shots a game, while Lowry manages the clock, the offense, and the tempo. Make him the scoring phenom that he is. Unleash him, If you will.

I know that it is a popular thought on here that one of these guys will be traded. It is my feeling that Kevin Martin and Luis Scola are in far more danger. I would like to see a future where

    1. Kyle Lowry
    2. Aaron Brooks
    3.
    4. Patrick Patterson
    5. (Derrick "Dwight" Favors) ;)

    Is a permanent fixture.

    (Carmelo now, Dwight in 2012?)

I don't want to model our team after a team that's highest accomplishment was getting beatdown 4-1 in the finals.

Neither do I... I want to model our backcourt after a tandem that destroyed everyone they faced.

The 3-4-5 can be vastly upgraded from Aaron McKey, Tyrone Hill and Dikembe Mutombo.

This is just a horrible comparison.

Lowry puts Eric Snow to shame and AI puts Brooks WAY to shame. AI in his peak was unbelivable, the fact he took that nothing team (him + deke + absolute scrubs) to the finals (even given that East was bad at the time), is crazy.

They are both PGs, and AB is an undersized SG, that is about where the comparisons end.

Upgrade a Mutombo? I doubt that, not while he was still "young" and not now with the centers around.

Eric Snow was 6'3,6'4 vs 6'0 lowry. Lowry cant guard those sg's on a fulltime basis either. I see what you're trying to say,but the rockets are just going to have to make a decision on them. The Suns had to trade nash because they had Kidd. The knicks traded strickland because they had jackson. If you have 2 good players at the same position around the same age,u just have to trade one.

Can a true Rocket fan, be a fan of Tracy?

    I think not...

Not If you care about someone pissing on your city and your franchise. I would have a hard time cheering for such a player.

I think Kyle Lowry can guard SGs far better than Kevin Martin can. I would also propose that Aaron Brooks can guard PGs better than Kevin Martin can guard SGs.

If 6-6 Chuck Hayes can effectively guard 6-10 PFs and 7-0 Cs, 6-1 Kyle Lowry can't guard 6-4, 6-5, 6-6 SGs?

He did some nice work on Wilson Chandler the other night. It seems like every team tries to post Lowry up, and it is comical watching them think they have an advantage, much like Chuck.

really? they only won 56 games that year. Beating up on a weak Eastern Conference.

I'm basing this more on the success of Lowry and Brooks, than the success of Snow and Iverson. Obviously they are different players. I don't see us trading away our most effective lineup. Lowry+Brooks...

OK, but there is huge difference between Brooks and AI in his prime. No comparison.

    I do not disagree.

There is a huge difference between Lowry and Snow as well.

Indeed. Allen Iverson was the Lebron of Philly.
