Yeah I don’t want often injured Bledsoe or Lonzo (because his dad is kinda disruptive). His dad will be criticizing Harden and Westbrook from the sidelines all game long......and from Twitter true and burner accounts.
@saleem I’m starting to warm up to your idea https://tradenba.com/trades/t5cDEHP34 Atlanta in: Eric Gordon x Houston in: picks Safe move sending Eric Gordon to the Hawks. Get maybe Augustin for backup to Westbrook at low cost.
Augustin failed alongside Russ. EG is much better than him. Things are moving very fast. Harkless signed with Miami, and Temple with Chicago.
On the flip side his shooting numbers have dipped for the past three years (FG% and FT%). If you take out our historic 2018 season his TS% have declined every year since he’s been in Houston. So there’s a reason why some, including myself, are down on him that isn’t due to impatience. Is he a good 6th man? Yes but whatever the reasons may be (injuries, offensive system, wrong fit with Harden (?), etc) I think we need to move on from Gordon if there’s a good return to be had
I agree. If we’re dead set on keeping Russ and Harden for at least this year you can’t move Gordon just for picks. We don’t have the luxury to make a move like that because we don’t have depth nor enough talent as it stands .
Gordon has had 3 bad years straight. We won’t win anything with him on the roster. unless he miraculously goes back to 38% to 40% from 3. He’s a negative offensively. he shoots around 40% from the field. he’s not good. he’s consistently inefficient. Y’all forget how bad he is after he has 2-3 good games. not understanding the attachment to this scrub
He has been mediocre - at best - for 2 years. He's 31. He eats up a lot of cap. Even if Tillman weren't busy running the team into the ground, it's probably past time to move on from Gordon and he still seems overvalued by color commentators and probably some GMs too.
Eric was so bad in the playoffs and such a big negative that he by himself practically cost us the playoffs, and at $16.8M. Covington almost cost us the Thunder series when they found out he couldn’t guard their point guards on the perimeter. So as @saleem and I were talking about......go cheap at point guard (backup) because all guards struggle next to Russ Westbrook; splurge at PF/Center. Nerlens, Baynes, other options. It’s called addition by subtraction. You have your opinion on improving the team, I have mine.......mine are while dealing with the reality of Tilman as owner.
We're in total agreement about the center and backup PG position. There is no doubt that EG nearly cost us the OKC series, He had one overall good game against them, and a couple against LAL. I was unhappy with him, but he did have to carry the brunt on defense on the 3 spot, especially after the House debacle. I'm willing to give him one last chance, since it's obvious no one wants him right now. Ditto for Russ. You're right about Ro-Co's problems in the playoffs.
So when Westbrook inevitably goes down with an injury then what? Some scrub vet min guy is going to be the starter next to Harden?
