My sauces tell me replacement level player on big contract could be replaced, if not for the contract.

about 9 teams are currently under $100 million but the situation is fluid and sure to change hour to hour.

    Heat $95M
    Raptors $84M
    Charlotte $81M
    Hawks $79M
    Knicks $74M

    Sacramento $97M
    Suns $95M
Lakers $86M.....Lakers need to sign AD (no bird rights)
.........................FA’s KCP, Rondo, Avery Bradley, Markieff....do they try to re-sign any?
.........................only Centers on team are MeGee/Harrell.....may go after Ibaka/Baynes but then how much left for AD?
    Thunder $69M

Good thing about AD opting out is that they will not have bird rights next summer to sign Giannis with AD
for a LeBron/AD/Giannis trifecta next offseason

Gordon’s contract isn’t as nuclear as people make it out to be. The fourth year is non guaranteed. Essentially the third year of the contract he is a net even contract again as a salary filler. He’s also making 16 million a year. Y’all should see some of the garbage role players in this salary range. We also have assets now to move off the contract if we feel it’s necessary.

Necessary reminder of our draft capital

    2021- 2 firsts ( maybe 3 depending on Detroit)
    2022- own
    2023 own

Detroit also locked themselves from trading firsts for damn near forever so they may need to come back to the table to lower some of those protections.

Let’s not forget that Gordon was a plus player prior to his injury and the bubble. Even though he couldnt shoot straight he was able to slash and defend at a decent clip. The guy still has game. I bet mid season you could flip him for salary relief or for guys like Agordon or Turner (mutual falling out) with our recovered draft capital. I would not trade him now to open up the NTMLE unless it’s for Ibaka. There aren’t many impact players worthy of that salary spot left.

I agree with this. Thanks. I wouldn't open up the NTMLE for even Ibaka. If Serge was 4 yrs younger, then I would definitely do that.

Alright then how about throwing in Pistons future 1st round pick as well? Pacers get a former 6th Man of the Year winner born and raised in Indiana to replace Victor Oladipo when he eventually gets traded. Pacers could use those 1sts to attach to Oladipo in a trade to get a better return or keep the picks depending on the strength of their respective drafts.

HOU out: Eric Gordon, POR 2021 1RP, DET future 1RP
    IND out: Myles Turner

    @saleem

I mentioned that Nets are probably out of the running for Ibaka......actually their $155M is primed for SnT with
Raptors low team salary. If Raptors wish to play nice.

I’d rather just keep Gordon if Bledsoe was the only other option

Gordon and the DET 1st to OKC for George Hill makes a ton of sense.

I’d rather ship Gordon off to Indiana for Turner. Pacers apparently want an oft-injured shooting guard that has Indiana roots so why overpay for Hayward when they can get Eric? Twin towers baby

    Wood
    Turner
    SF TBD
    Harden
    Westbrook

Yeah again reactionary and impatient fans. Gordon can still slice through defenses. His shooting was off but he was still great on dribble drive and perimeter D. Many of you are undervaluing him.
