OKC is actually a cool little town, Brick town is a cool area. That’s in a vacuum though.
Not many players would choose those towns over LA, Miami, New York and a few other places.
Houston isn’t much of a destination either honestly.

With the Mitchell trade, I hope the Knicks are more interested in EG now. I am of the mind that 2023 cap space isn't so important that we can't absorb a contract.

    Knicks get EG
Rockets get Fournier + 2023 Knicks FRP & 2025 MIL FRP

Knicks get a complimentary combo guard who can score, shoot, and defend. Rockets get 2 FRP and Fournier's contract (2 years plus team option).

I’m feeling like it’s unlikely that we’ll get anything more than an unlikely first round pick.

I’m fine with two second round picks tbh. I’m fine with keeping him if management will not tinker with lineups to avoid wins. I think a healthy EG with his experience can guide us to 30-35 wins as a steady leadership presence at SF.

Sengun/Jabari/Gordon/Green/KPJ is a highly highly intelligent lineup with several potentially excellent contributors off the bench in Christopher, Tari, Tate, etc. I feel like Jabari/Gordon/KPJ can guard your 3 best guys most nights and give you excellent spacing around Green/Sengun/KPJ running the offense. Would be cool and if Sengun is average on open 3’s the team will surprise people. I don’t know if the difference between one more late first rounder vs an early second rounder is really going to have any impact on our destiny.

We have enough picks to complete the core anyway and then there’s cap space. Not too fussed about the Gordon situation. Difference in benefit is marginal regardless of what happens.

I’m ‘hot’ on the idea of Fournier/FRP - EGo. Then a Feb flip for a SRP.

How about? ( works on trade machine)

Houston in: Rui Hachimura / Will Barton / Cam Reddish
    x
    Wizards in: Julius Randle
    x
Knicks in: Eric Gordon / Kenyon Martin / David Nwaba / Taj Gibson
    _____________________

Knicks would have to take Taj Gibson back. Waive him.

Wiz would have to take the Julius Randle contract....but they are in the East.
Probably like him and wouldn't mind. Beal-Randle-Kispert-Porzingis

Rockets would have abundance of 3's & 4's:
Will Barton, Tate, Rui Hachimura, Reddish, Jabari, Eason....me likey

Rockets could be contending this year.
The Rockets playoff Small Ball lineup would be awesome.

Nobody is staying in OKC after their career is over. Houston is a fantastic destination for an NBA player and why many choose to stick around when they’re done playing.

No doubt. I’m Htown through and through, just saying OKC is actually a cool little town. Wouldn’t ever want to live there though

Denver is trying to win, they’re not trading a foundational guy for some spare parts

I don't think that trade works either but I think trading for Wiggins with EGo, Nwaba, MIL pick may sound equally bad but there are good reasons why GSW could do it. They are trying to resign Jordan Poole and Draymond so their tax situation is going to get further out of control even without resigning Wiggins which they almost cannot do anyway. This gives them something for Wiggins and there is the possibility to work out something long term with EGo for them.

Yes, you can justify GSW trading Wiggins, but I don't think anyone could make a rational argument for the Nuggets trading Murray.

I dont know why, but so many of the players who come to Houston end up loving it. Outside of Chandler Parsons. I'm guessing good cost of living, good food and good girls. Not a destination though but I think guys can recruit here.

Houston has its own charm. But for the rich, the suburbs are a nice place to live relatively cheap with access to any big city amenities you could want.

    Lakers can't trade a pick until 2027. But yeah, I'd take 2027 and 2029 in a heartbeat. I'd even consider a 2027 FRP and a SRP.

I was thinking two 1sts might be a stretch, hence the protection on the 2nd, but at the least a 1st and two 2nds.

Lakers might part with 2027 but not 2029. I like this trade in that regard but I am tired of these teams using us. If we can add some things and get Wiggins that has more value.

You’d rather have wiggins over a 2027 lakers pick? That’s wild
