Is 4 years/$58M the max we can offer Gordon?

It's the max anyone can offer him. Hornets can and will match though, our only chance here would be a S n T.

He's 6'3 but he's quick, strong, explosive and soon to be one of the top SG's in the league. He's a proven scorer that can create his own shot, has handles, plays ABOVE THE RIM, finishes in traffic and he's the closer/finisher that we're desperately lacking. Offensively he's like Dwyane Wade with a better jumper. On defense he can hold his own because he's got quick hands and he's strong so he won't get posted like Monta Ellis for example.

Speaking of Wade.. The difference between the two is an inch and 5 pounds.
I'm not comparing Gordon to Wade because Wade is one of the best SG's of all time but I'm merely pointing out that Gordon can play and play damn well despite your argument that we shouldn't get him because he's only 6'3.

If Gordon wasn't injured and played complete seasons his stock would be much higher and he'd be impossible to get in a sign and trade. When there's an opportunity... You have to roll the dice every now and then and hope you get lucky. Gordon is a player worth taking on even if it meant paying him the Max and giving up some young assets. We haven't had an All-Star shooting guard since Clyde Drexler. That was a long ass time ago.

^^THIS^^ I agree completely. We should make every attempt to get Gordon here since IMO he's right there behind/with Koby and DWade as the best 2's in the game.

I think T-Mac made a few All-Start games at SG for us bud. But point well taken.

Pretty sure Gordon played very well in 2010-11 too.

im tired of everyone always using that same excuse " where did he ever lead X team" point is hes the kind of player we dont have which is an all-star type of player... he would instantly be our best player hands down. He has never played with a good team before either.

NO sat him more than they had to last year because they were tanking and the Clips did the same with Gordon at various points. The guy is capable of playing more but he has been on two awful teams who asked him not to play so they lose more games.

At this point beggars cant be choosers. Morey has made you a beggar. So you would be lucky if you got a Eric Gordon. Better start to hope he can at least be landed by Morey because thats as good as we could hope for with our GM.

I'm reading on forums that PHX offered him to the max, but haven't seen anybody report it.

Wouldn't doubt it but it wouldn't matter though cause NO will just match it and PHX doesn't have the pieces to get a deal done in a S & T.

I'm not saying he's not injury prone... I'm just saying I'm pretty sure the reason he played well last year wasn't because he "wanted to get paid this offseason."

I wish they had created a poll for this thread.
I think a lot of fans recognize he is a max level talent, but are scared off by the injury concerns...
I just don't want to go down that road again...

Why wouldn't NO just break the bank for this guy?

He's a 2, but they're going to try him at the point, given that Gordon comes back.
