Eric Gordon's play is a big big big big big concern. In order for us to challenge Warriors we need him to be a reliable third best scorer on the team. We won a lot of games in the regular season because of his offensive outburst. He was a difference maker. In the playoffs he has gone Ryan Anderson. He is rushing his shots. He is taking bad shots. He is hesitating on his shots. He is playing scared. He needs to slow down and let the shots come to him and then shoot them with confidence.
Nah. Eric is the epitome of streaky. We'll survive when he's off, and we'll utterly dominate when he's on.
EG has been a major disappointment. We can't expect Harden to drop 40 points every game, especially against the Dubs. In theory EG should be our Klay, but the talent gap is actually huge.
I don't think Gordon likes driving it against Gobert. He really needs to start trusting his shot. Way too many rushed, off-balance threes in Game 1. Doesn't really matter for this series, but we need Ariza and Gordon to be in good shooting rhythms to beat Golden State. Ariza's come around, but Eric needs to get his sh*t together.
His shot is short and he is not being aggressive taking the ball to the basket even his mid range game has been soft.
Capela is the X Factor Except when we play the Warriors. Then we have to have 4 allstar level performances in the series. Verse the Warriors Gordon is the X Factor.
he'll be fine. just never got in a rhythym. I agree with @topfive we'll play well and still win games when he's cold but we'll dominate when he's shooting lights out
Would rather he hesitate on his rushed shots. When he is open, he is measuring his shots. When is not open he is just forcing the issue. It's like he is always looking over his shoulder for someone that might or might not be there. This year's playoff performance combined with last year's struggles is a BIGmaloe concern.
I would like him to play better starting now, but if we get past the jass we are going to need him to play better against the Warriors. Going to need him to be a lot more dependable. Actually, ryno too.
Another thing to consider with EG: We can win this series even if he continues to suck. Personally, I'd like to see him finally bust out big-time somewhere around the 1st quarter of Game 1 in the WCF against the Worriers.
What gets me wondering WTF are these poorly timed/spaced long 2's he's been hoisting up recently. Sometimes, its like he gets scatter-brained and just errors out mentally.
Agreed, he has to step up. Ryno is also playing scared, afraid to shoot. If both were cooking, the Rockets would be a load.
As long as EG keeps shooting he will be fine. He's too good a shooter to not finding a rhythm at some point.
He has an absolutely dreadful mid-range game, and Rudy Gobert swallows his load at the rim no matter what. Hence the awful shot selection and decision making. He needs to stop whining and contribute in other ways If his shot is off. His body language after he misses a couple is DOO DOO!
