Kumar is so Hollywood You watch a show based on the most cynical characters ever to alleviate your depression?
perhaps I worded it a little weird.. I meant that watching this show is my time off of my daily troubles etc.. call me weird, but I thoroughly enjoy hearing House drop his amazing witty lines, solve an insane problem, or even ask a simple question that shows unbelievable intelligence (like last week's episode, when he came up with the "Mizzou river virus" to discovered if the guy was lying or not). I like the back and forth with Wilson, the tension with Cuddy etc.. it actually annoyed me big time when they tried to spice things up with Cuddy, I like them just like they currently are (or were, before they killed off my freaking favorite character!).. but no one, and I mean no one, can deny that this is a notorious ratings stunt and nothing more, it's a sign of a dying show, watch for fox to wrap things up in a couple of seasons.. and this really saddens me.. the show hit its stride after the "new" team was formed, and now they go out of their way and screw it over.. I still refuse to believe that Kutner is dead though.. call me delusional, but I'm banking on this episode being a full house-dream episode.. his vision going blurry in the last episode could be interpreted as the drugs taking too heavy a toll on him, then paranoia/hallucinations ensue/wild nightmares ensue and they capture one of those dreams here, to show that House really likes Kutner and thinks he has the potential to become another "house".. god I feel like such a dumba$$ for typing all this out
House is consistently one of the top performers for scripted shows. It's in no way a dying show. Kutner is dead. He's not coming back.
If this really is one of those full dream episodes, then a lot of people have been had, and this "ratings stunt" did it's job many times over. I would like to see this episode...
I agree with the tight and sharp writing of House but it's pretty dark the ending is sometimes ambiguous. I think the format and formula is similar to law and order, and that show is eternal. I'm betting it lasts 9 or more seasons.
For some reason I will watch the re-runs on USA...but I dont keep up with the new ones on fox. Anyways.....few months back there was a house marathon on...saw the episode where house was in an accident and hes trying to recall who was on the bus with him. turns out it was amber, wilsons girlfriend at the time. was the last episode of the marathon which was at like 3 am, was actually creeped out...it was like a horror film
I love it, too, although I have to just take a lot of it for what it's worth. Working in a hospital, I know that there has probably never been ONE episode in which everything on the show could have actually happened. The doctors do not in any way, do diagnostic exams, for instance. That, as well as the given that no hospital would see cases such that house does consecutively every week. But that is a lot of the beauty of the show. It's so far out there, as in far from reality, that it is actually a breath of fresh air from a lot of the reality cap that's out there.
I wouldn't call it a "stunt" unless they actually brought him back after a while or did a lot of new flashbacks. I wouldn't be all that shocked to find out Penn had other projects; he's still young and has just enough name recognition to get a pilot of his own, or a nice long string of supporting film roles. Either one of those possibilities may be more enjoyable than secondary character on a Fox series, even House.
Looks like we can lay Kutner's death on Obama. Kal Penn took the job as the associate director in the White House office of public liaison. http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/04/house-exclusive.html#more There are some spoilers in the article, but nothing big or anything you couldn't think of yourself.
Guys, I've seen probably 10 episodes of "House," and I've never seen this "Kutner" character. He wasn't exactly a regular. It would seem he was more of a "special guest star." Those of you crying over this should watch LOST. They kill regulars so often you get calloused to it.
no buddy, seasons 1-3 of house features the original team, cameron, chase & foreman, starting in season 4, a new team was established, consists of kutner, talb, hadley & foreman very dumb to speak out like that on something you do no know
Considering Kal Penn has already been successful in movies, he certainly seems to fit the mold of "special guest star."
sorry, you're wrong. When he's on the show for about 70% of every show for 1.5 seasons, he's a regular. You'd probably say that Chase and Cameron were still "regulars" since they appear in the credits for probably every episode even though they're probably in about 5% of each episode over the same 1.5 seasons
i was on the bandwagon of the fans that hated moving the original team to a 'support' role, but the character of kutner really eased the transition kutner definitely means more to the series than just a doctor for a season and a half
I guess Hugh Laurie is also a "special guest star", since he's already been a big star thanks to "A Bit of Fry and Laurie" since the early 80's. So is Omar Epps, since he's already had some pretty big movies, including Higher Learning, Love and Basketball, and In Too Deep. Seriously, you should walk away from this one because your arguments are pretty asinine.
