Amazing what going to a better situation, a more stable situation with solid coaching can do for young players. This is why I've been for the Rockets going after Tyreke Evans.
He started off the series 2-12 in games 1 and 2. He isn't worth close to max money. End of discussion.
I was about to make a snark reply that McGee is a better FT shooter than Howard. How could he be any worse, right? It turns out for 2012 Howard was a better FT shooter than McGee, .491 versus .461. I am embarrassed for the both of them.
I predict that some idiot GM will overpay for McGee. Good news for the Rockets. One less team to stand between them and the championship.
Don't forget that this is his showcase for a new contract. This past game was outstanding, but he's still averaging 10-10 in the series, and was atrocious in the three losses. He piles up the blocks for certain, though. How hard will he work when he gets paid? That would be my top concern. I would want to pair him with a coaching staff that would hold him accountable with development.
And his mom could scare the bejeezus out of opponents with her from-the-sideline stare, my goodness, someone FedEx that woman a smile!
