I know Miley's not much more mature than a 5 year old, but seriously? Grow the **** up.

The same for Kanye, who's beats are only tolerable with vocoder.

You people don't know crap. Tom Yorke is a dick to pompous and pretentious a$$hats like Kanye and talentless tween hookers like Miley. You think he would have pulled the same thing if Herbie Hancock or Princeasked for an intro. No.

Cool story about Radiohead and Yorke I read about. During Coachella a few years back they were headlining and the band that was on before them was The Pixies. When Tom Yorke caught wind of this he called the organizers and asked to switch place with the Pixies. Why? Yorke felt that The Pixies should headline the night and Radiohead should open for them. That's respect.

I thought it was pretty well known that Radiohead hates Creep and the fact that that's the song they're associated with. It doesn't surprise me that they don't play it.

Oh, and no way, Radiohead > Oasis. But it's close.

cause they are arrogant bastards. we don't give the people what they want, we give them what we want.

Oasis rocked every concert I've been too and played way more stuff, even Who and Beatles covers.

If this were a normal fan (even one with an inflated ego), I think most people would be pretty turned off by Thom Yorke's omissions. However, because it's two of the most overexposed (and overrated, at least in Kanye's case - I don't know if anyone actually rates Miley at all) musical artists in the world, many people find it amusing, especially given the gross overreaction by both Miley and Kanye.

I'm inclined to think there's more to the story than what's being told, but then again, Thom Yorke is notoriously private and maybe he just didn't want to meet anyone, graciousness be damned.

So did CRS not clear the sample for 'Us placers'? I'm sure they would, since it was a single. I don't see why Yorke would allow them to use his music if he didn't respect them at all. It seems more likely that there was some other reason than just not wanting to meet Kanye West.

Yorke has even gone as far as to say that he doesn't even remember ever playing "Creep"

So yeah, I'd say they probably are sick and tired of being associated with it.

Good point, if he'd brushed by kids who had been outside waiting for hours in the snow in hopes of getting an autograph, there'd be a lot of heat on them. But sending your agent/assistant to request them to come meet you would be pretty off-putting.

What did Pearl Jam and Green Jelly have to say about the matter?

Kanye is very egotistical, but his music is superb in my opinion. I'm not sure about your musical taste, but not every hip hop artist makes horrible music. (Which is what I've heard many people take from hip hop)

Past that, how many great musicians are egotistical anyway? Plenty, but that does not make their music any less great than it is. I'm not going to attempt to defend Kanye as a person because he is a bit of an arse, but I'm definitely a fan of his music.

I've saw Ministry a ton as a tween back in the 90's and not once did they play Everyday is Hollaween. Later I found out that it was because Al J. hates that song. Same reason why the Beastie Boys haven't played "You Gotta Fight" at any show since the Liscensed to Ill tour. This does not make them arrogant pricks.

Here you go though Tinman. It's the closet anyone will ever get to seeing Creep performed live.

never fails to happen.. the Doors(really mainly Jim Morrison) didn't like performing Light My Fire.. for pretty much the same reason.. Nirvana declining on Smells like Teen Spirit.. etc

and I can't believe I see eye to eye.. well.. mostly.. with moestavern19.. on any issue..

i'm also not that much of a fan of their's.. simply enjoy some of their music.. but people taking exception to Thom's side on this matter.. really need to see this for what it truly is.. Miley's affinity for the band's music comes off as genuine as a 13yr old girl's crush to one of the member's of N'sync.. not exactly flattering.. and Kanye wanting to visit with the band for the sole reason that he found them to be the only ones on par to his delusional level..? there was never a more appropriate and deserving response..

Michael Stipe was on Fallon the other day, and as usual, he didn't seem like a dick to me. Maybe he's done some dickish things in his day, though, but I'm guessing there are more than enough great artists out there who actually aren't arrogant assholes.

I'm not saying he makes horrible music. I was a huge fan of "The College Dropout" I thought it was very well put together. I listened to it often. But to say his music on the level of Radiohead is pretty egotistical and shows that his head is in the clouds.

Hip-Hop always had some people who could actually express themselves quite fluently while staying on a beat, sadly I don't think there are many of them out there today. I'm still waiting for a new Illmatic, but I doubt it will happen.

Hey, I'm not that much of a polarizing figure.

Sometimes people find out they have more in common after an initial squabble over something largely trivial.

I'm not one to hold a grudge to the point I will go against what I truly believe just to disagree with somebody else who I previous had a spat with.

If I did that I'd be hating almost everyone on this board.
