    Here's exactly what he said:

"First of all, David [Dalati], of course, I want to say greetings and hello from the unemployment line. It is a long line here, and I want your listeners to know that if they are looking for a former 3rd baseman with promise whose skill set includes possibly looking at strike 3 or getting out in critical situations, I am now available."

LOL, today Ensberg is 3-4 with 2 HR and 4 RBI.

This is just the thing that can get Purpura fired asap

players to be named later are usually picked from a predetermined list that the other team provides. say they choose 10 players from their system to put on that list, we get to pick one of them. robinson cano was on the list that NYY sent to TX in the ARod trade...they chose joaquin arias...lets hope we can pick a winner.

Do you seriously think he was dogging it so he could lose his position and big money in the future? He's on a winning team now with a clean slate.

There's no pressure on him to be the saviour of their offense. He's had one good game so far. Maybe he'll stink for the rest of the season. Maybe he'll play at his All Star form. Winning and good chemistry in the locker room can be contagious and it wouldn't surprise me if he has a great run for the rest of the season.

He never bashed this city or caused any trouble in the locker room. I hope he tears it up with SD. He was a huge factor for us getting to our first World Series. Ensberg played over his head the entire year and we needed it. Maybe he can do the same for them. I like the Padres in any playoff series against the rest of the competing NL teams.

Given Purpura's track record with these kinds of judgment calls, I think we'd be better off with San Diego picking the player.

Shoeless Joe Jackson was a PTBNL. I'd say he turned out alright. I'm hoping for Clay Hensley, I don't think last year was a fluke.

I hope you're joking. If he wanted out of Houston, he wouldn't have hit over .300 in July. Ensberg is a 100% class act.
