You longhorn fans are becoming more and more delusional. Stick with the Bush vs. Young for the #1 pick.
O.K. then how about this. Vince Young is the greatest college football player to ever come out of Houston.
Aren't there probably just as many Aggies in Houston? If thats the case drafting VY may not bring the Texans more money. They should also think of it in that regard. The Houston Texans, and the Texas Longhorns (Austin) aren't related. I agree.
I am sure you will spend the entire day thinking of who to put in front of VY as far as who is the best HOUSTON born athlete, just as you spend days upon days thinking of knocks against VYs game. sooner or later, hopefully, you will learn the definition of the word HATER.
What is delusional about proper reading comprehension? Did I make a statement where I agreed with the original argument? I was simply trying to help you out since you apparently did not understand the phrase "at this point in their careers".
what we have here is not a failure to communicate but a pissing contest between IC2000, buttshell and reggie as to who can hate on vince "local hero" young the most. who do you guys think is winning?
And not only Aggies, Owls, Cougars, Raiders, Sooners. Its just that all the Longhorns are making the noise right now.
That's right, you're not from Houston That's right, you're not from Houston That's right, you're not from Houston But Houston wants you anyway You don't have to be born here to be from here You just have to want to be from here
I don't know, but you're winning the best attempt at 3rd grade humor award by changing a name to spell something else. That is rich, and completely original
i don't know how many Aggies there are. but there are over 45,000 UT alumni here in Houston, according to Texas Exes. there's craploads of UT fans who didn't go to school there. there's craploads of people who aren't UT fans but who watched vince here locally. do you think Aggies who are here will root against the Texans because of Young? doubt it.
I have no problem with the Texans drafting Vince Young #1, but I do have a problem with the reasoning that he should be drafted partly because "He's from Houston" or "He's the hometown boy." Under no circumstances should where a person is from enter the Texans mind when they make the decision. Hakeem Olajuwon was taken by the Rockets because he was CLEARLY the best player available, not because he was from Houston. I'm sorry but the sentimental stuff has got to go when it comes to this. Passing on Rashard Lewis, in hindsight, was a mistake, but you have to remember that over 20 other NBA teams made the same decision. Whoever the Texans draft, they need to be evaluated based on their character and talent, not by where they are from.
are these guys even from houston? I cant understand why anyone from houston would take bush over VY? the facts are on the table. they are both dynamic. they are both gifted athletes. the TEXANS have both of their positions already filled, but are still taking one of them. it comes down to "who would you rather have as the face of your organization"? I dont see how a true HOUSTONIAN would take bush and his san diego allegiance over VY who is without a doubt loyal to his home. HOUSTON!
dont worry, dude, BUTTSHELL always throws the maturity card when he gets cornered, and realizes that he has made another ridiculous comment. I'd take it as a compliment for getting under his butt......shell....hahahahah!
Yes I'm from Houston, which is why I want the best player for the HOUSTON TEXANS. I don't care about where anyone is from, I just want my team, the HOUSTON TEXANS, to get better. If Vince went to A&M, OU, or Tech and had the same career, I doubt that you would be as adamant about picking him as you are now.
Ridiculous comment.............hmm...............Kind of like Vince Young is the greatest Houston athlete ever?
