ENOUGH with the Yao Hating: It's time to take names

You can add Jim Rome to the hater list. On his show today he compared Yao to Bradley and was happy to hear that Ben Wallace and other NBA players are being so hard on him. His words, "That's what happens when you're ten feet tall and from China".

 

Can someone please translate this for me?

 

That Fisher guy at dallasbasketball.com is prob one of the biggest idiot. Even after the Ming debut last night, his header said, quote:

None of those other guys has said Yao "sucks" or equated rooting for Yao to not being a true Rockets fan.

I would love to have a log of all the anti-Yao messages that were posted here by our fellow members. Some of them were just as or even more asinine than the journalists' rants.

 

Listen up, its true that this is a free country. Everyone is entitled to his or her opinions. But a sport jounalist bashing on Yao Ming without doing his or her works deserved to be ridiculed. It is one thing for some of the MING haters to post stupid comments here, it is another for the so called journalists to make comments like MING cant block, just another Bradly, BUST! etc. So far MING has proven to be a good player, and has potential to be a great, if not dominating force,in a few years. The prediction that he was just another Bradly is totally off the mark. So either these journalists r absolutely stupid or just too lazy to do their homeworks before opening their big mouths. It is totally legit to question Yao's ability if one doesnt think he has faced enough competitions to be worthy the #1 pick. But when you say he'll be a BUST,just another Asian Bradly, and the reality is totally different from your conclusion, these jouralists deserved to be fired for either their stupidity or laziness. It is ok to be ignorant when one doesnt know the facts. We dont have the facts all the time. But ignoring the facts only means stupidity or self denial.

And my opinion is, any journalist who says Yao is not a shot blocker doesn't know what the hell he is talking about.

On a related note, I wonder how many of these journalists who are ripping him have actually seen him play. I'll bet the number who haven't seen him is higher than you'd think.

Btw, add professional scouts and coaches and players who played against Yao to your list and you'd be right. Funny how the people who have a reasonable amount of knowledge about the situation all agree.
