If the agenda posters were right Jones would have been out of the league long ago.

Quantify how Jones is making having more open shots than the norm.

LOL. TJones and Dmo had very similar scoring numbers last season. You just don't get how effective players can be off the ball and how helpful that is. Despite those "shortcomings" TJones has had more success, just look at career numbers.

I'd imagine TJones holds down the starting PF spot as DMo is better suited as a 6th man with this current Rockets team.

So then your opposition has an "agenda", can we just call you a "TJ hater" or a "DMO only fan"

As was stated over and over again, Jones and D-MO are pretty much neck and neck when it comes to their srats. Maybe Jones gets the nod because of his slight edge in rebounds and his shot blocking prowess.

Youngster you can't teach me nothing, especially basketball wise. Your knowledge is very faulty and inaccurate when it comes to Jones value to this team. Time and time again you come on here arguing a point that's really mute ,because McHale keeps starting Jones over Dmo. The only 3 ways Dmo comes back and start over Jones:

    1. Jones sustain another injury that sidelines him for multiple games.

    2. Jones gets benched because of piss poor play.

    3. The Rockets finally find a suitable upgrade and trade him.

My extremely early prediction is that Jones will receive a near max offersheet from Detroit. SVG is impatient and there aren't any good young pfs. He already did it with Reggie Jackson and he will do it again with Jones.imo.

You might be right, if T. Thompson can get a max deal, well a lot of player's will get paid big time. Dude is making more than Harden. SMH

Won't happen. SVG wants shooters at the 4. Terrence is the last guy he'll sign.

I honest think Terrence is going to have a difficult time getting a big money deal next summer. Portland gave Ed David 3/20. I'm having a difficult time finding a team that would definitely want him for over $6 million per season.

If you think Terrence is wort more than about $6 million per season then send him a message and let him know this.

Now Ed Davis, a guy who averaged 7 ppg for his career is better.

The agenda posters are truly delusional.

Ed Davis deal was a bargain. BUT he was a player who was on a minimum contract with the Lakers after his agent and him made a real stupid decision and cost him money.
I won't even debate with you who is better because we both know it's a waste of time and space.

A guy like Ed Davis rushed to sign a contract because of his dumb financial history. TJ is not in that situation.

Now we know that SVG and Arn Tellem plan to spend a LOT of money near FA. They will have near 35 million to spend.

Small market teams, esp young and that haven't made the playoffs in god knows how long don't have the luxury to go after the premier free agents.
They also don't have the luxury to wait right now.

That is what most people here seem to not understand. Money will HAVE to be spent and small markets teams will be more pressured to do so, because this is their chance now. Same reason why Milwaukee and Boston and Orlando and Toronto and Charlotte tried to do it this past offseason. You have to spend now to grab what talent you can, because with the next cap rise it will be even more difficult to get talent-when literally EVERY SINGLE team in the league whether they are contenders or philly will have millions to burn.

We know Detroit plans to go after some kind of free agent. The hole in their roster is obviously the 4. In SVG system the 4 has to be someone who can coexist with Drummond and be able to somewhat shoot 3s BUT also hedge and switch on defence. This is of particular importance to SVG from what he has publicly said recently (lowe podcast).
The possibillities are limited with the data we have now.
Al Horford. basically a at best 1% chance he even meets with Detroit.
Rhyno Anderson FA. Way too old for their core, and can't defend. Always injured too.
T.Jones RFA young can be molded supposedly to SVG's desires as he tries to do with the rest of his players.
Sullinger RFA=****** can't switch with anyone.
T.Zeller RFA another possibillity but doubtful if he reaches FA he's now in extension talks with Ainge.
Meyers Leonard = less than 1% chance Portland at their current situation lets him leave
DMO =bad fit imo next to Drummond.

A lot of things can happen between now and then and that's why it's an extremely early prediction.
Maybe Skiles gets sick of T.Harris defence and A.Gordon cant play the 3 so he's traded to Detroit for KCP.
But right now if I was a betting woman I would put my hand on the fire, that there is a big file on Arn Tellem's desk titled T.Jones as a prime FA target.

Except I don't think he should have been out of the league years ago.

So I'm not an agenda poster.

    See?

You can call posters whatever names you want to call them. And you'll get by with most of that stuff because the mods do not see fit to penalize you for it. But you're not going to hurt me with your labels. Only yourself and the board.

For the record, I'm still on the fence with DMo. I really don't think he's got greatness potential. I think he has potential to be a very good player. But he's gotta bring it this year. If he's injured for half the season or more, or if he doesn't light it up from 3...he'll settle into mediocrity just like Terrence has.

Nowhere in that post did I say Ed Davis was better. I simply mentioned Ed Davis because Davis and Terrence are in the same class of PFs. Slightly undersized with obvious holes in their game. Davis is a terrible defender, as is Terrence. Davis can't shoot the 3. Neither can Terrence. Davis can shoot the 15 footer. Terrence can't. Terrence can handle outside. Davis can't. And they both can finish. They're in the same class of PF. If you can't see that, you just might have an agenda and be delusional.

    LOL.

So SVG is going to go after Terrence and not go after DMo because Terrence is a good fit next to Drummond but DMo isn't a good fit next to Drummond.

    LOL.

With Morey's record with drafting, I don't know why people are not letting Dekker play at least a game in the regular season before making their conclusions.

He's a rookie LOL and he's going to need more than a game to evaluate, think about letting the kid develop for the entire season. People around here are starting to act like _asketballhollic in pretending to be talent evaluators when their not. Don't forget _asketballhollic called Clint Capella (who he says is the key to rockets season this year) a Pile of Poooo when the rockets drafted him. So take what people like him say with a grain of salt.

That's exactly why I'm not writing him off. The front office has access to much better tools than my own crude implements so I'm more than willing to give them the benefit of the doubt here. Dekker has a lot of positive attributes for a long-3/stretch-4. And I think I understand why we drafted him. If he develops properly he could become the next Ariza when Ariza's game starts to fade.

There are certain keys I look for though, in a young player, that help me determine with a very good degree of accuracy, where their NBA career is headed. I've maintained for 2 years now that Terrence's career is headed for mediocrity.

While most any basketballer can see and ascertain potential in a player, only a few of us understand limiters. Limiters is a term I am introducing to you here that you have to be able to determine in a player and properly weigh his limiters against his potential to get a much truer picture of what path his career will take. These limiters manifested themselves in Terrence early in the 13-14 season and I've never waivered on my opinion of him since, even when he put up a 36/11. I know what Terrence is. He's a player with seemingly boundless potential but with 2 limiters which outweigh his potential and that are now set in stone in his makeup. Could he overcome those limiters? Yes. But it will take most of the physical prime of his career for him to overcome them. Which means he won't be a significant player in the NBA until the latter part of his career when he essentially is playing on a minimum or low end contract and his physical prime has ebbed and is now his new limiter. And that will only happen if he attacks his limiters now and works diligently on them daily for several years. At present he hasn't even started working on his limiters.

For players in the NBA to become significant contributors to a winning team one of 2 things has to happen:

    1. They have to come into the league with an already superior developed basketball skill that is of primary importance to a team playing winning basketball.

    or

    2. They have to come into the league with potential to develop at least one superior basketball skill essential to a team playing winning basketball and within the first 12-18 months of being drafted they have to attack their limiters and crush them while simultaneously working on becoming elite at an essential basketball skill that is vital to a winning NBA team.
