He's our 3rd best offensive player on the team and I only see him getting better. honestly he plays very well with Harden and Lin I hope he can keep it up. If he can get us 12ppg off the bench all season were in good shape.
but if he can't hit the 3 to relieve pressure off Harden and Lin, I can see Morris taking more of his minutes with the starters
major oooppss ... wrong thread, I meant this about Parsons I'm liking what I've seen about Morris so far
i'd like to see us get the ball to marcus down low once in a while. Every play is Harden pick and roll which is tiring him out.
Marcus Morris really does not want to go back to the D-League. He looked pretty good out there tonight, really got the crowd going with his back to back threes. Not sure why he was taken out because he was playing pretty well.
Patterson was a -29 in 38 minutes, while Morris was a +19 in 15 minutes. Me thinks McFail wasn't paying attention to who deserved more playing time.
i was one of the only people saying this in the game thread against the pistons when morris started........ everyone was wondering why jones went from starting pre season, to riding the bench and giving morris a ton of minutes...
Not sure CCorn is serious, but it wouldnt make sense to showcase him so early. There's time to make trades later this season. If they really thought Jones was better, then they'd play him, especially now with Harden, so the team would start well and attract fans early on.
I think that was probably because McHale wanted the better defender on Aldridge. I think ultimately Jones is going to get a lot of mins at PF and Morris will be called on for offense and Patterson for defensive purposes.
then why else would morris go from riding the bench in the pre season to starting the first game of the regular season?
Morris should of finished, regardless who is defending Alridge. Patterson's 3 point shots and his habit of shooting outside bothers me a lot.
Morris certainly showed signs of why the Rockets drafted him in the first place. The guy can get shots for himself, plain and simple. This is a skill that only Harden and Lin has on the team. I don't think Morris is a guy the Rockets will just dump. His skillset is simply too different from others youngsters on this team. White is a distributor. DMo is a post player. Jones and Patterson more often play off the ball. Morris is the only volume scorer among them.
Normally this is true. But Morris actually played great defense on LA tonight and one time flat out got a stop on him. There really was no reason to take him out when they did.
