This year wasn't even seen as a playoff year. Why would we jeopardize getting a beneficial trade, not just for this year, but for the more important future, just because we want to get into the playoffs? This has been talked about in countless other threads, it would seem kind of obvious. It's almost a win-win situation for us, either we make the playoffs and celebration ensues, or we get in the lottery, don't need to force it either way, it might hurt.
Exactly... We would be in some serious trouble If Glen Rice was our GM. Perspective, Let's keep it...
Well, I would not rush a bad trade, but I don't think a lineup change paired with a few benchings would be the worst thing in the world either.
Your suggestion smacks of desperation. DM must look for something that helps us. No trade is better than a bad trade.
It's Adelmans fault, we could have definitley used t-mac until the deadline that way you wouldn't have to worry about rushing a bad trade.
So what if it is. Do you really expect this team to go deep into the playoffs with whatever we get for McGrady's expiring contract? I've said it before and I'm sure I'll have to say it a million more times before the season is over. I root for the Rockets to win every game, but every time they lose I just think "Well being in the lottery isn't so bad". And honestly, I'd prefer to be in the lottery than to just barely make it to the playoffs only to lose in the first round again.
Where were we headed this year? Not very far according to most, so who is out there that will be our savior and make us legit contenders this year? I don't see what the rush is around here.
I am sure, the only ones rushing for a bad trade are fans. As for McGrady, does no one actually go back and watch the minutes he played? On a scale of 1-10, in the category of defense, McGrady was a -8 and offensively, he wasn't even a scoring threat like he lives to be. Meaning, no he couldn't really help us. And for those that say despite watching him in practice everyday, that the 7-8 minutes wasn't a good enough sample, I say watch what Aaron Brooks did with his limited minutes do to fouls today. Compare that to McGrady's one game with more then one field goal against the Clippers.
It's not about panicing. I have seen threads that our bench can beat our starters. That's not good. We need a dynamite scorer. If we can get one by the deadline pull the trigger. Also, we need to think about the contracts that we possibly could lose. Will they sign back with Houston?
hey,i do think we clutchfans seemed to be out of control,so close to the edge. if possible i would kill someone to release my anger.
People act like this team is knocking on dynasty's door or something. Geez. This season is a starting point for the Rockets' future. This isn't the time to be making "win now" decisions that could prove to be risking our future. "Win now" left when Yao and TMac were injured and TMac was shown the door. You can't lose that much talent and expect a miracle transaction to win a ring "now". I was shocked that this team was playing as well as they were because I honestly thought we wouldn't make the playoffs. We're playing like a .500 team and playing inconsistently. This is almost to be expected. If they turn it around, more power to 'em, but I won't be unhappy that we took a bunch of single (and no)-dimensional players with no true post presence to a respectable record.
