If you look back at Championship caliber teams, there is always an "Energy Guy." The guy, who lacks overall talent, but makes the hustle plays and helps his team win championships. Let's review: Celtics: Greg Kite. LA Lakers: Kurt Rambis, Mark Madsen. Detroit Pistons: Bill Lambeer, Ben Wallace. Houston Rockets: Mario Elie. Matt Bullard. Chicago Bulls: Judd Bueschler. San Antonio: Will Purdue. Avery Johnson. When the Magic were in playoff contention, they had D. Armstrong. Without him, last place. With 4 hall of famers, and the Lakers couldn't win. The difference? No Mark Madsen. But, then again, with the exception of Ben Wallace, Mario Elie, and Avery Johnson, this post could be titled : "Goofy White Guys on NBA Championship teams." Anyway, on a serious note, who's gonna be the Rocket's voice in the locker room? It's not gonna be T-Mac, and no one will understand Yao. Someone's gonna have to get in the players face besides JVG. Any thoughts?
I thought JJ was the voice of the team. I always seen him shouting on the court when the team plays out of whack.
I like the idea of Richard Simmons being our Energy Guy. He could run around the locker room slapping guys on the ass, screaming, "Show Me Some Hustle."
Yeah.. I also think that flagrant fouls would increase if he ever checked into the gayme.. oops i mean game!

Ben Wallace lacks overall talent? He was the defensive player of the year. He consistently is near the top in blocks and rebounds. He gets tons of steals. If Ben Wallace is an "Energy Guy" then maybe our "Energy Guy" can be Yao Ming.
