Nice phone, I was really wanting the HD2....but this one is damn nice.

Not in a rush to switch from by blackberry yet though, so I'll wait awhile allowing the kinks..if any, to be worked out.

I can see that. I would probably get one for $199. I've had Samsung almost exclusively since getting mobile phones and like the brand. I had an HTC for a week or so, but ended up taking it back and getting an Instinct.

This one looks pretty good though.

I can't see a $299 price in the current market, T-Mobile has the HD2 Going for $200 and the Nexus One for $180. AT&T has the iPhone going for about the same and Verizon has the Droid at $200. They have to stay competitive somehow...

Apparently you are not aware of how much Sprint was charging at launch for the HTC Touch Pro 2.

Set for release on Sprint for September 18th the highly desirable HTC Touch Pro2 is set to cost you a not insignificant $350 based on a two year contract (and that’s subsequent to a $100 mail in rebate).

I honestly haven't seen a phone over $200 (with a two year contract) on T-mobile, Verizon, or AT&T... It's always Sprint that has the most expensive phones, but you can't complain... that one-time fee maybe high, but at least their contract plans are cheaper than Verizon's...

This is a pretty nice phone, played around with it. I like the Nexus One better though

I'm still going to hold out for the Windows 7 series of phones coming out at the end of the year. I don't have any problems with T-mobile so I'll likely stick with them.

That's like one phone out of the dozens that have been released by far. Point is, high prices are not attractive.

actually before the iPhone hit the magic $200 price point, when I first started Verizon in 06, they had Palms/Blackberries going for $300+

since the iPhone dropped to $200, every new device came out after that pretty much started at $200, the G1, Blackberry Storm, Palm Pre, Droid

Apple products always seem like they can do as well or better than the competition at higher price points.

That phone is a monster. 720p with HDMI out on a cell phone is crazy.

However, people saying this can replace a standalone digital camera are delusional. There is no zoom at all and zoom is extremely important for taking pictures.

cheater! hehhehe. android just doesn't seem as polished imo. this phone would be better suited with win phone 7.

waiting for the rumored palm c40.
