My opinion is that the rapture did happen, and everybody worthy has gone to heaven. The only problem being that the only worthy person was a 90 year old lady from Kansas. Her kids are in the process of triggering an Amber alert for her as we speak. Everybody else has been left behind.
You're not going to get any further with that logic than someone will on the exact opposite side. [devil's advocate]: If there is a higher power, why wouldn't he / it be able to incite "naturally occurring" events?
Why are some people still so gullible in the 21st century? Just wishful delusion I guess. It would be pretty great to be swept up into eternal happiness verses what passes for life on this planet. But as a guy who is lucky enough to have it about as good as it gets; there is no happiness without sadness, it just becomes sameness.
Considering how lucky, and rare it is, that we even exist, I'd say these people need to chill the hell out with the "this life matters not" nonsense and get with the program. Even if your reward lies beyond, stop treating this life like some kind of truck-stop toilet.
Lucky and rare are value judgments without anything to compare them against. All I know is this is reality to me now and it seems to be better when I love, achieve, am entertained, and not racked with guilt and regret.
I am posting from heaven right now, and God says that all those crazies that created religion got it all wrong. He told me to post that. DD
Given the enormity of the universe, and the lack of life-supporting places within it, and the sheer number of different people that could have been here in any of our places if not for the DNA lottery (don't even get me started on how easy it is to die)... it may be a value judgment, but if you disagree, then I posit that your values leave a lot to be desired, at least when it comes to what constitutes rarity and fortune. So, to not consider us rare would otherwise be ignoring the reality of the world around us, and as for luck, even if you want to argue against freewill with predetermination, I'd consider myself lucky that of all people that an omnipotent being could create and plan a life out for, it'd be me. So, no matter what way I look at it, I feel extremely grateful to be here... and I think that's a good attitude to have about life.
Aaah. "Rapture Tastes So Sweet", like I knew it would <object width="480" height="390"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/WbaWdyDipcw?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/WbaWdyDipcw?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="390" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object> My package of glowsticks have arrived in. Still waiting for confirmation on those virgins.
I just got back from a camping trip and my backyard lawn chairs are gone. I'm sure they are in a better place.
Noticing this like the 4th-5th time I've commented on this. Though the 72 virgins thing isnt even a part of the Christian based rapture. So 72 virgins, posting a vid with a Middle Eastern singer, maybe I'm hinting that I'm really a closest Muslim ?
Did they interview some of those idis who stayed in the hotel with Harold? They should've installed cameras next to the people to show their reactions when 21st ended.
My condolences on the loss of your beloved lawn chairs. They are indeed in a better place. Spoiler my backyard
