Seriously? Sacramento? The Hornets are matching Gordon so I think we'll be better than the suns at least. If we get Dwight we are probably on the level of minnesota, portland, and phoenix maybe a little better depending on who we keep. If we don't get Dwight we are at the Bobcats' level and will have a historically bad season
How are we on the same level as Sac and Minn? We have nobody other than Dwight with a bad back. Sac has Reke, Cousins, Chuck, Minn has Love, RubieRube, and Rick Adelman, and extremely loyal fans
You keep saying "bad back" like he has had issues his whole life. Name a superstar not named lebron that has never been injured.
Sac was also one of the 5 worst teams in the league last year, and 2 of the 3 players you named are huge headcases and the other is basically irrelevant now that they have Robinson. Minn is questionable right now regardless of how "loyal" their fans are lol, we'll see if Rubio recovers from his injury or if Batum ends up there or not
At the begging of this off-season the Rockets were left with a decision: sink or swim. For once they avoided the turd option to float. I for one am happy we won't be number 9 in the west again next year.
The only albatross we have left on the Rockets' books is Matt Maloney's contract. Once we're rid of that, we should have some cap flexibility.
Ir's defintitely then end of an era, but not the Yao era. I think that one ended when we got eliminated in the 2nd round in 2007. McGrady and Yao were still around, but they knew it was over as far as serious contention goes. I'd say '07-'08 to '11-'12 was the era of the complementary players and the fruitless search for a star. Morey thought he could keep the role-players in place and plug in a franchise guy to leap right back into contention. But, no star ever came. In '12-'13, even if we got Howard, that ready-made team is gone. Morey would have to build all that all over again.
