Bernie has been popular since Obama. Never was a serious front runner for Democrats. America still is dominating the world. These claims of America slipping have been around since the 1950’s. The USA is as dominant as ever - it’s issue is wealth allocation and struggles with not investing in the infrastructure.
It'll take a generational shift away from shareholder capitalism and a full rethink for profit reinvestment in order to begin to resolve the issues you mentioned. Many Americans arent happy with the current status quo and show it through polling and election results. The ones who are are multi millionaires and billionaires while others who think it's good enough passively ignore the excessive greed of the former and the homeless roaming in public. Having a president with kinglike powers isn't the quick and easy answer for any of this, but we're all sliding towards it with the same people who were b****ing about tyrannical lockdowns 4 years ago shrugging and doing a wait and see approach for Letting Donny Cook. The USA is not more powerful today than what it was in the 1990s. We have a lesser share of global currency reserve today than back then. The Chinese navy is growing at a much faster pace than we are at the moment. We have too much red tape that hinder progress from happening. We are investing more money today in our infrastructure than ever before but we are getting less progress bcz of pointless environmental laws or "made in America" requirements.

back then, 2-3 decades ago, no country was foolish enough attempt to de-dollarize. then came BRIC’s attempt to lessen USD’s share of international commerce. In do so, BRIC countries have wasted lots of resources—-in the process adding much inefficiency—-to promote this economic folly. After 2+ decades, to say that the BRIC experiment has been an abject failure would be under-stating it !
My bad, I misunderstood your post and glossed it as a continuation of other posts in the thread. Are there any of those liberals left on here? Glynch? The working class libs who once voted for Obama have shifted more to Trump in 24 or by not voting either party. The demographics in that group contains a mix of labor, high school education or less, and/or poorer cost of living areas. I'm not sure what Democrats today offer to them in terms of hope or optimism despite all welfare checks. Biden jobs took so long to arrive that Trump is now able to cancel many of those projects. It's in the OP. If I received and relied on checks, I'd feel like the American Dream died somewhere for me or I made a terrible mistake. And that's without being saddled with debt. At some point, these once temporary measures to get your feet back up turned into necessary needs. Tack on rapid cost of living increases despite experts gaslighting a Great Economy, then yeah, **** this system. I'm working 2 jobs, doing gig work and the rich are getting richer. I'm already cooked. We think we're saving them with massive government spending to prop them up. Meanwhile they feel resentful buying into a social contract that turns them into a statistic rather than a real participant in our country's future. That's probably why they aren't as alarmed when this guy is tearing down legal institutions and due process that were bedrocks of our democracy. They voted for a felon and court defined rapist after all.
As a percentage of world GDP, we are simply not as dominant. We are still the dominant power but China maybe as strong as the USSR in the 50s and 60s.

ffs BRIC's isn't trying to de-dollarize. Its attempt is to build an alternative payment network to navigate around Western monetary system, specifically SWIFT. There are multiple reasons, including getting around sanctions and to mask foreign trade volume. The only people stupid enough to get away from UST's at this time is liberals.
You are the one who is confused. You have stated: BRICS has failed. Yet you have stated Russia would only be able to survive months w/out the USD (sanctions). And here we are.... BRICs is trying to replace USD as reserve currency, thus has failed. Yet nobody in BRICs has ever stated they are trying to replace the dollar (de-dollarization) BRIC's is not trying to become the defacto global reserve. Only Bitcoin can do that.
