Uhh, NO...They are being used by EVERYONE nowadays

Eminem has better lyrical skills, but he's been lame on subject matter(Not to say Cash Money, etc are not)
I like Nas more because his music just sounds better to me. If eminem would ever grow up, he'd be up there though.

Cash Money has lame lyrics, but it's not about what they're rapping about, but the overall sound. Do you like the beats? I usually hate their music, but Still Fly and Way of Life I liked for some reason...

    JamesC is on point,

Until Eminem can produce an "Illmatic" type album. He will never be any where near "greatest" anything. "Illmatic". So many great producers brought their A game; Primo, Pete Rock, Large Pro, Q tip, Trackmasters damn. And Nas was at his best, ten bangin, classic tracks with no intros, outros or other nonsense. With only a couple guest shots and none of the 1 hit per album bizz.

to add this producer list; Pete Rock, Beatnuts, Cut Chemist and Numark, Rza, Jazzy Jeff, ?uestlove, Mike Dean.

As for the "Lost Tapes" check "Doo Rags" laidback Nas at his best.

I'm wondering if more than 5% of this board has heard of Kool Moe Dee and Grandmaster Flash.

Those are guys that should be getting the love as well as Whodini, Kurtis Blow, Rakim, etc. In other words, guys who could really rap.

oh, I'm sure plenty hiphop fans know all about them. They get more love than you know. They don't need anymore props than, Nas or ATCQ or 2pac...so on, all those who left their mark on hip hop.

But the figures that introduced hiphop, Bambaataa, Jazzy Jay, GW Theodore, GM D.S.T. , Kool Herc who invented the "break" which Djs first ryhmed over before any MC took the mic. Where's their love at? Its there, when a fan can appreciate Nas, Beastie Boys, Gangstarr, J5, and all other artists who rep a few if not all the 5 elements.
