Some of Em's best verses. Now, tell me...who can rap like this?! NOONE <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/YmFC5ZDcgS4&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/YmFC5ZDcgS4&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/gGvrwA4tYko&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/gGvrwA4tYko&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
Sales, does not = Greatest MC... Lil Wayne and all that trash out today should be a strong testament to that. The fact is that the mainstream does not want that raw hip-hop anymore. Jay-Z can't hold a candle to the greats... <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/88BPk903jUQ&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/88BPk903jUQ&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> Follow procedures, the crowd couldn't wait to see this Nobody been this long awaited since Jesus Who wouldn't believe this, I heard the word on the street is I'm still one of the deepest on the mic since Adidas They said I changed the times from the rhymes that I thought of So I made some more to put the New World in Order with Mathematics, put your status above the average And help you rappers, make paragraphs with graphics Cause new days is dawnin', new ways of peformin' Brainstormin', I write and watch the night turn to mornin' On and on and, I got the whole world respondin' Rock, I keep it hot and blow the spot without warnin' The Emperor, well known for, inventin' a sentence full of adventure, turnin' up the temperature Rush with adrenaline, how long has it been again to be in the state of mind that Rakim is in?
Shawn Carter is all hype, a self-made mogul. He's considered the greatest because he marketed himself as such. Nasir Jones was the young cat poised to take it down, but he fell off somewhere along the way. Marshall Mathers entered the game and brought hip-hop into suburbia. Lil Wayne and Autotune destroyed it.
Now...I'm an avid hip-hop fan. I'm not a homer and only listen to one particular artist. Honestly speaking, NOONE can put words together like Eminem. Jay-Z is a good rapper. Better than most, but not Em.
Pudding can be artificial. I don't deny Jay-Z is a good rapper, but I'm with those who think Eminem is better. I haven't heard anybody consistently put out better material than Em in a while. Those voting for Rakim - he's a legend. Makes me feel better about you guys selecting him because I posted an interview a while back with him where he was going off about how good Eminem was. I'd go look for it but I'm posting on my phone from lunch.
Look, I am a huge fan of both..... Putting words together masterfully makes you a great lyricist, putting on the entire persona (shows, sales, and longevity) makes you a great rapper. Em is the best lyricist ever.....not too sure about the greatest rapper alive though......
Cheetah your opinion is about as valid as B-bob's hair, but I cannot disagree that you have a prominent brow and therefore would make a fun Racquetball Partner.
WOW... You guys putting Jay-Z above Rakim need a lesson in real Hip-Hop... Unbelievable... Rakim's farts have more flow than Jay-Z's high pitched verses and more originality than his weak hooks and persona...
Rakim had ONE hot album without Eric B. His beats were garbage after that, sure he still had the lyrics but that's not enought to call him "the best rapper alive" especially if he disappeared for about 10 years after "the master". Jay-Z has arguably the best flow ever, wtf are you talking about? lol. If you're arguing against HOV's flow, that's the wrong section to pick at. If anything it's his lyrics recently but even that hasn't lost tempo too much. HOVA is the overall best rapper alive.
Jay-Z moves crowds like an army, his performing skills are amazing. <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/qcneGa_-DI0&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/qcneGa_-DI0&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/0-OORTHRHRs&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/0-OORTHRHRs&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
Salieri to Mozart... Jay-Z might sell more records at this point in time (Salieri), but the God MC is several, several oceans above Jay-Z as far as artistry and hip-hop is concerned. Rakim is a genius, Jay-Z feeds the masses... Salieri to Mozart...
