Remember, you are saying that as the 76ers are still trying to trade Ben Simmons. Remember, what happened with Demar Derozan in Toronto. It's really irrelevant if stars are loyal or not to their team. Because, if Embiid spends the next two or three years injured, we'll be hearing how they need to trade him or they shouldn't have given him the supermax.
If it doesn't work out Morey can just blame Elton Brand...or say he wants to go spend time with his wife and take over the Pacers or something...
I think LeBron James is more likely to play with Bronnie James in 4 years. Than Joel Embiid still in the League in 4 years.
Joel Embiid runs like a 38 year old. His injuries have been occurring since Kansas as a teen. Injured or Broken Knees, Feet, being Overweight. He doesn't look like a normal, Healthy 27 year old Center.
In 4 yrs his knees will be shot so he might pull a Cousins move then. Loyalty is dumb AF in the NBA. It wasnt refreshing to Demar Derozan and Isiah Thomas to be loyal to their team. Hell Pat Bev took less money to stay on the Clips and a couple years later he in Minny with that same lowball contract. You cant allow teams to trade players whenever they feel like and then glorify players who remain "loyal" to their franchise. If there was a trade for Wall would you do it yes or no?
Never talk player loyalty when there's no franchise loyalty. I remember when teams were like "that's our guy" let's see if he can recover or get better.
