Hakeem moved gracefully, not like gumby. No comparison.

Every Rocket's fan knows Dream wasn't 7 feet tall even with shoes.

i swear never seen a smooth big man as good as Hakeem. This is like Ronaldinho used to do his magic in soccer while in his prime and the players after him tried to copy his moves but NO one was as smooth as him. Both of these players have invented a unique style that can't be replicated no matter how you try.

Yep, imagine Embiid trying to be this great during the month of Ramadan.

Did his shoes increase the length of his arms?

What does that have to do with what I originally said? I mentioned that Embiid was longer. Even if they had the same wingspan, Hakeem is probably a good 3 inches shorter than Embiid which means his standing reach was probably shorter also.

Embiid and Shaq are the same listed height at 7'1" with shoes. Here is a picture of Dream next to Shaq and David Robinson who is 7'2"

Exactly right. Embiid struggles with conditioning and once he's gassed he just starts pulling up from 3.

My original reply was snarky because I thought your original statement was weird, but now you're really doubling-down and taking this seriously.

This picture only proves that Grant Hill is the tallest NBA player from the 90s.

Not nearly as polished as Hakeem on his moves, but you can certainly see the influence. Embiid reminded me of Hakeem even back when he was in college. Not surprising to learn he's his favorite player.

Well to be fair, Hakeem is much more fluid. But that took years of practice he was much lighter on his feet. Embiid has had a history of bad knees. He has the baseline of the same footwork but with years of practice we’ll get to that fluidity. Remember this was only his 2nd NBA season

There are 3 steps. Which makes Grant Hill look taller than he is. This pic might not be the best representation

Well said. Dream's shimmy shot was effective because he set it up by going to the hook shot earlier in the game. When the defender moved to defend the hook, the shimmy --> fade away was dream's counter. Embiid is just reciting the move - the defender isn't fooled.

personally, i think he'll come to understand these subtleties if he can stay on the court. Embiid's current repertoire already testifies to his intelligence and dedication. There will never be another Hakeem but embiid can be something amazing one day.
