lol not a surprise. Bosh going his own way?! No way. A bunch of talk and a lot of nothing! "Leader"? No way. Why be a leader when I can just follow LeBron or Wade!?

so its true ? wade has herpes? i thought it was a rumor. wow

lakers are 9 deep, you would think after watching finals that bosh would understand that a team of wade, bosh, joe johnson,9 scrubs would not win,but then again it is the east conference

Seems like he is over "being the main guy", and instead "wants to win".
He also mentioned, "its a business" and that he needs to "look out for himself".

I know he is talented, and I'd be happy if he was on our team, but I'm just not feeling it.

Do you not think a roster of Brooks, Martin, Ariza, Bosh and Yao with Scola, Lowry and Battier off the bench would qualify as a winning team?

Did you listen to how the host asked the questions? You have to consider the context of questions when they're asked - that's how so many of these supposed "quotes" go out of control when you see them in print.

When Bosh started talking about wanting to win, it was after Greenberg prefaced his question with talk about Shaq/Kobe and other combinations of stars breaking up because of egos. Then he immediately asked what Bosh thought. Big-time loaded question. Well, duh, of course there's a damn good shot Bosh will be playing with another star no matter where he goes - Yao is that here, if he's healthy. So what's he supposed to say? "No, I don't think I can handle playing with another top-tier player"? How do you think that would sound, particularly in the context of the way it was asked?

Also, the prior question (in which he also talked about "wanting to win") came after Greenberg completely led him, asking a hypothetical about New York and if a campaign centered around factors outside of basketball (marketing) could backfire. Again, what's he supposed to say? "Yeah, the basketball doesn't matter that much"?

I don't think Bosh is "over" any particular idea based on what I heard - he basically answered the questions the only way he could given where he was being steered. Bosh isn't going to go on the radio and give any kind of significant tell. He's smart. The only thing I took out of this this morning is that Houston is at least in the conversation pre-July 1, and considering the lack of cap space and buzz about being a free agent destination, that's a good start.

Here's the problem of his statement, as a player, he should have known better than that. I'm with Morey on this one, when it comes to free agency, its always sign n trade, you don't see players giving up that extra money just because they keep saying "I WANNA WIN". No matter its lebron or Bosh, it's gotta be sign and trade so its a matter of who has the most tradable assets other than who has more cap space. Morey has been stock piling talents for a while now and I believe that hes put Houston in a great position to make run at one of those guys through trades.

    In Morey we trust.
    Amen

Well that sucks, that interview does not make me feel better about our chances...

I don't think Morey will wait around for Bosh to make up his mind, Bosh will regret it if he goes to another team for the money.

I still would not mind having him, but there are other options and I am sure many we have not even heard about. Those are the ones that usually get done anyways

I listened to the interview this morning and I was surprised at how well Bosh answered some of the questions, especially from Brussard who was just bluntly asking him are you going to team with Lebron/Wade... etc...

The consensus I came up with was that he really doesnt know where he wants to go until the dust settles and he can go to the best possible scenario for him and Lebron has the abililty to totally shake up alot of rosters if he does move.

So why would he make a decisions to go to "X" team now when in 40 days that team could be a totally different team?

As for him being the "go to guy" he did mention that he regrets saying that he wants to be "the man" but he still wants to be a go too guy on the squad when the game is on the line, which Mike Greenberg said that in any gametime situation Lebron would almost always be the man to have the ball in his hands when the game is on the line.

Maybe that will help open his eyes to what joining a team with a Lebron James or Wade would do to him. Does he really realize that joining a team with one of those guys will ultimately make him a "Lamar Odom-type" of player who is very talented, well payed but is a role player of a contending team?

I applaud Clutch and the members here for their efforts in trying to convince Bosh to come here but, seriously, is THIS the guy Houston really needs?

A guy that gets on talk radio and says "LeBron comes first. Everyone else comes second"? If you want to be a leader and the centerpiece of a team, you cannot have that mentality. It has defeatist written all over him.

A guy that says he has a better outlook on where to go AFTER the other guys have made their move? I'm sorry but if there are city and teams out there (i.e. Houston) that has put forth a great GREAT effort in trying to convince you that you are their #1 priority, what's the point of waiting for other people to make up their minds? His mentality should have been "Damn, there are a couple of teams that want to work out a S&T for me, who don't want anyone else BUT me. Maybe I should ask the Raptors to look into that"

Again, I think what Clutch and some of the members have done in trying to convince Bosh that the Rockets is the team for him cannot be applauded and commended enough but I think, as we hear more about what Bosh has to say/think/believe, the treatment has been given to a player that doesn't deserve as much.

Bosh is indeed a follower, not a leader. Good post.

I agree. There is alot of talk about Bosh signing with another team. It has also been said that Bosh holds all the cards. I don't think that is "totally" true. If he signs with another team, he loses 30 Million!!! He would much rather do a sign and trade and "get that money"! The Raptors have some say because without them, once again, he loses 30 MILLION! So the pieces in a proposed sign & trade will be very important in deciding where Bosh goes. I don't believe that He will go to a team he absolutely hates, but I think there will have to be "some" compromise on what team the deal is with. Seeing that Houston has so many valuable assets, we may not be such a long shot after all! :p
