Says the guy who repeatedly promised Orlando Sanchez would be our next mayor. And speaking of embarassments do you still stand by your statement that we need warrantless wiretapping so we won't tip off the terrorists when we hand deliver the warrants to them? For that matter, do you still stand by your repeated assertions that we had found the WMD in Iraq? Oh lord, I could go on and on. Meanwhile you have one thing on me and it's not a thing at all. Go back and read the 04 exit poll thread. What I said was that if the exit polls were right it would be a landslide. That is entirely factually correct. I didn't vouch for the accuracy of the exit polls. And I certainly didn't promise victory as you did on pretty much a daily basis leading up to Sanchez's incredible defeat. Congress's low rating has been explicitly and repeatedly explained. The American people are angry that Congress hasn't been more successful in stopping the incredibly stupid, incredibly unpopular war they were elected to stop. Do you really want to crow about that? Hillary, meanwhile, has the benefit of her own approval ratings, distinct from those of Congress. USA Today/Gallup has it at 53%. The low mark in the last month is from CBS which has it at 43%. Bush would kill for those numbers.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA..........................................................
TJ is unaware of anything that refutes his point... i wonder who rove will work for next year... on a side note, pat robertson (700 club) endorsed gulianni. what happened to pro-life and anti-gay?
Nice try Bats, but those exaggerations and falsehoods do not directly relate to anything we are talking about. Your track record on quoting polling data is abysmal. Or is Howard Dean implementing his Presidential agenda with a mandate the size of Ronald Reagan's? ROFL Hillary is striking back hard after she was pilloried at the last debate. She knows that she can't lose her momentum, ala Dr. Howard 'Bone Saw' Dean in 2004. She and her impeached, philandering, lying husband are eager to grab power back and will stop at nothing to do so. Expect a full out assault on Edwards and Obama, similar to this smear.
Saying it doesn't make it so, Poofie. I have reported polls here, sure. And I've talked about what it would mean if they continued to be accurate through election day, sure. But I've never promised they would. And I certainly never promised anything akin to your embarassments in the Sanchez matter, the hand delivery of warrants to terrorists (God, that kills me) or virtually every pronouncement you've made about Iraq. In all likelyhood, the email was created by the same people that floated the BS madrasa story that you bought hook, line and sinker -- the Republicans that are terrified of facing Obama in the general.
It shouldn't be surprising if yet another Repubican takes the White House in the next election. Georgie Porgie does pretty much anything he wants because he knows the Democrats have absolutely no spine. YES THEY DESERVE TO DIE AND I HOPE THEY BURN IN HELL!
coming from a hardcore bush supporter i find these statements to be laughable. your hypocrisy is stunning! NO CRED!
congress rating is lower than bushs b/c they are not doing what the american people elected them to do, which is get us out of iraq and put a check on this criminal administration.
He's more worried about pro war. Which is interesting in a sense. Robertson is willing to compromise his morals for security. Wouldn't one think God would protect him a little better than a guy who was lucky enough to be mayor of NY on 911?
Interesting, I remember watching Robertson in the last year or so bragging about how much money he was making in oil stocks.
I also remember during the first republican debate when Rudy got in Ron Paul's face for suggesting that 911 was America's fault. And now Rudy's accepting the endorsement from Robertson, who we all remember right after the attacks, said 911 was the fault of America for it's godless, liberal, faggy ways. hum...
The D&D in the heat of political warfare is so much fun! It truly reminds me of a basketball stretch run -- only we are just in mid-season. The Democratic fray is like the Western Conference and the Republican tiff is like the weak Eastern Conference. This current scenario is like Evans grabbing testicles to gain a temporary but memorable advantage. (Just as an aside, I wonder which candidate you would ascribe to what team. For example, I'd make Hillary the Utah Jazz (Western Conference) although some would give that team to Romney for obvious reasons).
http://www.commentarymagazine.com/blogs/index.php/jpodhoretz/1253 [rquoter]Giuliani’s Pseudo-Coup John Podhoretz - 11.07.2007 - 12:45 Pat Robertson endorsed Rudy Giuliani for president today. This is a coup, but not for any substantive reason. Taken strictly as an electoral matter, the Robertson imprimatur is almost certainly a wash — meaning that any votes it will generate will be offset by votes it will cost among those, even on the Republican side, who find Robertson a singularly unappetizing figure (including among Evangelical Christians, many of whom come from a different eschatalogical tradition from Robertson’s). There are times when an endorsement really does mean something substantial — when, say, a governor with a powerful political machine at his disposal anoints a presidential candidate with the understanding that his machine will do whatever it can to get the candidate elected. This is not the case here, for the reasons I’ve outlined. That Giuliani has managed to secure the endorsement of a formerly significant leader of the Religious Right was to be expected, if for no other reason that the endorser was bound to get a lot of attention from a hungry media that can’t get enough of this pre-primary season and the intriguing fact of a pro-choice candidate sitting atop the Republican leaderboard. That Giuliani’s endorser would be Robertson is also not surprising, because he has spent years trying to make up for his disgusting assent to the repugnant claims of the late Jerry Falwell that the American Civil Liberties Union and other secularist organizations bore some responsibility for the attacks of 9/11. What we have here, then, is a Giuliani “pseudo-coup,” to adapt Daniel Boorstin’s great neologism about staged media events that have no intrinsic meaning. In 1961, Boorstin described a “pseudo-event” as a happening that possesses the following characteristics: (1) It is not spontaneous, but comes about because someone has planned, planted, or incited it. Typically, it is not a train wreck or an earthquake, but an interview. (2) It is planted primarily (not always exclusively) for the immediate purpose of being reported or reproduced. Therefore, its occurrence is arranged for the convenience of the reporting or reproducing media. Its success is measured by how widely it is reported… Endorsements these days are almost exclusively pseudo-events, and this one more than most. The reason it’s a pseudo-coup is that it’s become the story of the day. It will be discussed for the remainder of the week. It is an attention-generator, and a spotlight-stealer, since the news has drawn the media’s attention away from the endorsement of John McCain by Sen. Sam Brownback, who just dropped out of the presidential race. [/rquoter]
Utah is one of the last two or three dead ender red states left in the union. Kind of tough to compare the team from the reddest of states to a liberal Democrat. Even their most famous black player was a Republican.
Hillary is the Spurs. Black and white in outlook, marching inexorably toward the finals, boring, and uninspiring. Obama's the Suns. Flashy and a popular pick that everyone enjoys watching, but can't quite get it together enough to go the distance. Richardson is the Lakers. A big ego and weak support. Kucinich is the Nugs. You kind of like what they are trying to do, but the personality is just too crazy to make it happen. Biden is Minnesota. Still playing while destined to lose, but wondering what could have been had everything worked out in the past. Edwards is Dallas. Lots of potential, came close to the big cahuna once, but can't quite get the traction. Dodd is Memphis. Some good moves, but nothing to get too excited about. All Dems need to be more like the Rockets... come together and depend on each other so that the western Conf crushes the East in the Finals.
