The 76ers are obviously trying to see what they can get out of the #2 pick, and I don't think anyone is in position to bite off more than they could chew to make this deal go down.

Hedo had enough suitors this past summer and was caugh tin bad situation in Toronto, he still can play, so perhaps they'd be able to trade him if we threw in Budinger instead, along with brand + filler.

Just in case some of you have had a lapse of memory. Les is no fool and Morey won't make a foolish decision!! :p

Did I read that Brand is 6'8"? I thought he was taller. Why would we want another undersized 4? I thought we were finally getting away from that. I really don't think Brand's contract is worth an unproven player. I'm sure the Sixers have some wiggle room in what they are willing to offer to a team who would take on Brands contract.

Yeah of course its worth it for Turner. You can unload Battier and or Jeffries for the contract. Then turn around and have Martin to trade away as well if Turner works out. Kepp them both. Trade or use Elton Brands contract in future trades to make a trade.

i would do this. it's a #2 pick. if morey could pluck diamonds in the rough from late 1st rounds and 2nd rounds, imagine what he can do with a #2. not to mention, you could probably flip the #2 pick for multiple picks or a pick and a young player.

not to mention you get elton brand who's a beast down low but was out of place in the 76ers running game but would now probably be fully healed from his surgery. also, wouldnt that contract mean something when the new cba comes along? or am i understanding that situation incorrectly?

Elton Brand would be T-Mac II. Hasn't he missed over 100 games in the last 3 seasons?

Do you trust the Rocket's doctors to be any better? It would be a different story if his contract was for a year , but you are swallowing his salary for 3 years. Nobody wants it.

Hell naw. Not for an unproven rookie. If its a proven all star we are talking about then sure.

We arent making this trade for only Elton Brand though. We are making this trade for a potential all star in Evans or Cousins. Whoever we decide to take with the second pick. So those arguments on his health or playing are only as added bonuses to what the draft pick gives us. If Elton is good then thats even better. Who cares though if you get Wall, Evans or Cousins? Heck I would take two Elton Brands for one Kobe bryant or Lebron James. That at least gives you championship potential down the road when you get rid of Brand or maybe even while he is here is Evan Turner turns into an allstar.

If we ended up with Rubio and Cousins as rocketblaze pointed out....I would j*zz on my own face.

Brand is too much, even for that pick. I wish that Philly would deal AI as I would love to have Brooks/Martin/AI9 but I know Doug Collins is probably trying to win pretty quickly and probably not wanting to deal Iggy.

I wonder if Philly would take David Andersen+Jared Jeffries+Jermaine Taylor+future 2nd rounder for Sam Dalembert.

Philly gets expirings and a young asset+2nd round pick and Houston gets back about the same amount in Sams expiring deal and get a guy that can start if necessary. Even if it is a one year rental it would be a better use of dead weight.

RB, this is an absolutely brilliant plan. the amazing thing about this trade idea is that the two other teams literally cannot say no (i mean they obviously could if they wanted to, but they WOULD NEVER want to say no to this) because it benefits them so much, yet miraculously, it benefits the rockets the most. this is good stuff.

    I would take Brand if

    1. Morey thinks the draft pick will be a stud.
    2. Ariza is included in the deal.

I also like rocketblaze's deal as well.

If the Rockets viewed Evan Turner or Favors as a franchise player, a multiple time all-star, I think you have to make the deal even with the bad contract of Elton Brand.
