The only knock on him is his contract and his past injuries. As far as his injuries go, he only missed 6 games last season.

man...i love Evan Turner, but Brand's contract smells like sweet boo boo.

We'd have to PRAY that he turns into Brandon Roy in year one, because we couldn't make ANY major moves anymore with Brands contract on the books. I still Elton has a lil game left, but he's not not even allstar level anymore. I think I'd pass on that one. Morey doesn't have a bad contract on the books and i think he wants to keep it that way.

If we were talking Dalambert instead of Brand I would jump all over it.

There is always a risk. You won't get a deal like that anymore once the unproven draft pick becomes Lebron/Wade. How they evaluate the 2nd pick is the key.

Its not like we are giving away Yao here, we are trading away insignificant pieces...If you arent trading for a Wade or LeBron, the next best way to get a superstar is by drafting one.

You guys make it seem like Brand is a 2 ppg, 1 rpg player.

I doubt anyone is going to go for that asking price. However, if they throw in one of their good young players, then it starts to get more interesting.

Also, the Rockets wouldn't have to take Turner. They could take Favors.

For those saying we got "screwed" out of Brandon Roy. This is the perfect opportunity to make it up by drafting Evan Turner as he IS Brandon Roy Version 2.0. I think Turner is the Real Deal Holyfield and I'd bet the mortgage on this guy succeeding.

For those that are saying Elton Brand is washed up I think he's still got plenty of good miles left. I think Brand is a horrible fit in Philly and his contract is nasty but he can contribute and contribute well next to Yao. He's the perfect compliment alongside Yao as his strengths are quickness, shot blocking, rebounding and some scoring in addition to a nice mid-range jumper. I can really see Yao and Brand feeding nicely off of each other.

I'm all in on this trade. I like it more than a Bosh deal.

I'm guessing it would be trade bait for bosh...give toronto a replacement in Brand to keep them in "contention", keep the #2, which makes it easier to give up assests like Hill to Toronto so they'll take Brand's contract.

No way in hell Toronto takes back Brand's contract. They have enough dead weight in Hedo's contract as it is.

Very true. In Morey we trust....but personally I'd pass if Brand's contract was a sticking point.

I agree with what u say about turner and i used to be a huge brand fan, but his contract vs his abilities dont matchup right now. I've wathced alot of philly games and i do think he's miscast in the offense, but what made him special, isnt there anymore. His quickness and explosion used to allow him to play both ends despite being 6'8. If these are the options, i'd rather get al jefferson or just draft a guy and rdie it out.

If Morey thinks he's worth it, then I'm down.

Send them Ariza in the deal - that would mean a net gain of only ~9 million per over the next three years, and an ~8 million drop off after that.
