In Musk's world, laws to label or disallow fake but extremely realistic AI in consequential matters are a bad idea (even though he has the same policy on X, which he broke himself). Revenge rape wouldn't be illegal if he had his way.

Truly weird people.

Luckily, Congress is not that weird. A bipartisan group of lawmakers introduced a new bill to regulate the use of AI for cloning voices and likenesses and similar AI laws since 2023.

Musk has the right to lie, censor, and do whatever he wants on his platform. It's a private company, and we don't need the big, ugly government telling private companies what they must or can't do.

Musk has shown himself to be a massive hypocrite, has spread some lies and conspiracies, and is just a very weird guy that seems quite out of touch.

I'm not even sure it's censorship to be honest - but by the bar used here - it is. Maybe it was a tech glitch, but when the shoe was on the other foot, people were screaming foul

Twitters revenue has declined. If musk didn't take it private, it's stock price would have tanked.
