Her tweet was sent on December 3.

People are free to like Hitler and his actions. It's a "benefit" of living in a free society.

She gets to live with that decision. She may lose customers. As far as I can tell, she's not inciting violence.

That type of post, however, is a reason that advertisers are wary of Twitter. The last thing they want is to have one of their ads randomly pop up while that tweet is being displayed.

The market will help decide Twitter's future business practice.

Agreed that she has the right to say things like that.

It's horrible that a company like Twitter would sell their endorsement to that message.

I assume that after the cleanup period, they will introduce some mechanisms to address filtering out inappropriate tweets for paid promotion.

How is not having the ability to express love for Hitler on a social platforms not a violation of free speech on principle according to yours and millions of right wingers rhetoric regarding free speech the past half decade?

I have yet found a right winger fighting for speech on principle where that speech was fighting truth to power and or oppression.

Private entities have the right to control speech on their platforms. Twitter or facebook or whoever, can have rules and if your speech violates their rules they can kick you off.

I know. I'm just curious why the change of heart here for those who disagree with this sentiment of yours and mine.

It seems like right wingers do have thresholds where they leave their principled position of free speech regardless of context mantra at the door.

So there is a line, you just don't like where it's drawn.

That would be responsible if they did. But that's a big assumption. Actually, the responsible thing would have been to make sure that they didn't do that in the first place rather than after the fact.

I have seen no real principled position of free speech. I have actually seen more of the other way - anti-free speech from the right (Musk isn't even an exception to that, but some people are "fooled" because of his public statements.

For example, Musk said he gives people the right to say whatever. Recently, he also says that they do not the right to spread it (he has now realized how harmful it is to business and himself). Essentially, his statement of 'say whatever but we can throttle you to the void of my dungeon' is a form of shadow banning. He will use that to suppress speech for ads/business $/his values and whatever else he might feel on Monday while still proclaiming to be the king of FREE SPEECH.

Here is one of the many of the latest of him saying one thing publicly, probably meant it, then flipping floppy shortly afterward.

He's very much like an unethical politician now. BS and lies.

He also suspended someone my family knows for a day because he tweeted F U to Ted Cruz for not going home after his daughter attempted suicide. I haven't heard people on the right being suspended for the things they've said about liberal politicians.

I guess Musk feels he's become a bigger target for dangerous people since the #TwitterFiles release. Maybe he's been receiving death threats.

Very possible and if that's the case, I hope he understands what being at risk really means and that he will be much more careful about "targeting" people as he has been doing over the last month. I won't hold my breath though.

That requires empathetic thought processing which I'm not sure Elon has the IQ for.

I doubt that he did that himself. Yet, his company did and they are clearly playing by his new rules. The buck stops with him.

Typical. Everything Twitter does which you agree with "Yeah Elon!" Everything negative "Elon didn't do that himself!"

I'm not sure it's negative. I mean, it was a suspension for a leftist. :p

That's line 1 in the Republican playbook.

Find something someone said who can be considered a "liberal" and then use that to paint the entire Democratic Party negatively.

    Exhibit 1 Defund the Police.

And you have the nerve to now be clutching your pearls. LOL.

And on top of that, he keeps claiming he does not have time to research, yet he finds time to spam multiple other threads with twitter stuff ALL DAY LONG.
