I know next to nothing about Cuban, but I read that he came from a pretty low to middle-class family. Self-made billionaire. He would be a moron (or a gambler) if he lost most or all of it. A 13% gain is still a gain, and 700m is not peanuts.

But isn't it funny how we talk about billionaires? Most of us would be very happy with 1M, and here we are talking about their status, how much money they made, and the percentage they have gained. I'm not sure if any of that really matters. Probably what matters (at least to me) is the manner in which they made their money, how they treat others, and also how they contribute to society. A combination of all of those.

    Go, billionaires!

@Space Ghost advocating for Musk over Cuban in his Daily Fantasy Billionaires League - I'll be sure to take this advice to heart.

Illegal voting and illegal immigrants has been a republican narrative for 3 decades. This further proves anyone who disagrees with you is a right winged extremist.

Its against the law for an illegal immigrant to vote in a federal election. So regardless if its been a talking point for republicans for years, its a clear falsehood and only pushes right-wing conspiracy theory. No surprise musk pushes this on the twitter platform.

As I mentioned, I liked Cuban for years. To hit on your point about how he treats other and society, his whole Top Shot NFT grifting adventure left a sour taste in my mouth. He was actively encouraging and promoting the whole NFT scam on retail. So many people lost so much money because people thought Cuban was this skilled investor. So he is either a low life grifter or he generally doesn't know what he is talking about. I tend to lean towards the latter. Luck played a bigger part than skill and drive in how he amassed his fortune.

He is smart enough to hold onto his fortunate (which is really not that difficult) but he isn't savvy enough to grow it. He could have put it in bonds and easily have tripled his wealth after a 1/4 of a century.

As a human, Cuban is likely a pretty good guy all around. Like Musk, he gets way too involved in politics. If someone is going to grandstand from atop of their empire, they need some clout to back it up. Being a big mouth billionaire isn't enough.

Granted this very well could be fake news, but I honestly do not care who gets elected. You can do the research since you made the claim.

The missing logical link: Yes, you can show up to your local voting spot in AZ, as I understand it, and not present your valid ID, but... you have to be on the voter roll, and if it's anything like CA, you have to state your address.

So, the illegal/undocumented saboteurs would have to come in and vote before the legit people voted, using their exact names and addresses. This issue would quickly be discovered, unless the mass of illegals carefully chose exactly people who were not going to vote. It's not like you show up with your own name as an illegal and are allowed to vote.

EDIT: Also in CA, I can only vote at my "local precinct," so an illegal impersonating me would have to know my precinct, which switches around and is not always the closest one to my house. I receive those directions at my address listed on my DL. (Sorry if this is irrelevant to AZ -- not sure.)

I'm not saying this is all flawless but it's not really prone to substantial fraud.

I find that critique weird and unfair. Cuban is an investor in all things crypto from the early days, and he's also involved in NFTs. Many people have lost a significant amount of money because they gambled on highly unpredictable and unstable shiny things, which NFTs and crypto were/are.

Labeling him as either a grifter or someone who doesn't know what he's doing (as related to NFT) assumes he wasn't an investor himself (his skin is in the game). It also presupposes knowledge of where all of this crypto will eventually land. He's an investor, and based on your posting, I believe you are still a strong advocate for cryto (specifically Bitcoin).

How someone invests (and whether they win or lose) isn't what I was talking about. People have good, lucky, and bad investments all the time. That doesn't really define someone's character. How you treat others (your family, children, friends, neighbors, peers, employees, fellow citizens, and just humans in general), how you make money (not just lawfully but with principles and grounded in high standards vs. cheating, lawlessness, etc.), how you contribute to society (what you have done for the betterment of all, etc.) are aspects more important to a person's character than how much they have or how much they increased their wealth.

When it's a tweet and you aren't sure, assume it's worthless. When it's Musk posting it, assume it's likely wrong, given that we know he doesn't take the time to check political things he promotes, and his interpretations are often factually wrong.

    https://azsos.gov/elections/voters/...er-information/proof-citizenship-requirements

A person is not required to submit proof of citizenship with the voter registration form, but failure to do so means the person will only be eligible to vote in federal elections (known as being a "federal only" voter). A "federal only" voter will become eligible to vote a "full ballot" in all federal, state, county and local elections if he or she later provides valid proof of citizenship to the appropriate County Recorder's office.

70% of Republicans believe the 2020 election was stolen (perhaps a bit less now, but it's HUGE, as someone likes to say). So, it's naturally normal to think more illegal votes equal more elections stolen for the Democrats. But, of course, factual data shows none of that is true. However, we never live in a fact-based world but a world based on stories, and the story is that Democrats want illegals so they can win future elections make sense to Republicans. Pointing out facts like only U.S. citizens can vote in federal elections means little when the system is corrupted - Republicans. What makes Musk's drugged-up brain weird is he actually believes illegal immigrants can vote in federal elections. Another of many Paul Pelosi moments.

Yes. The whole faux panic over a mass wave of illegal votes by undocumented immigrants seems asinine and unreal. But it seems like some minimally significant amount of folks have fallen for tactic.

Except voting shouldn't be this tedious. This isn't the 1800's. Voting fraud should be nearly nil.
I understand why we do. The government is slow and often more backwards than a w. Virginia hillbilly. I don't understand why Statist continue to defend an archic system like this.

How hard is it to log into a government website, verify your SSN and address, click whichever candidate you want and hit enter. If a problem arises, whether benign or fraudulent, you walk your happy ass to a government facility and show your ID and resolve the issue .

The system has been working. There hasn't been massive amounts of voter fraud. There have been attempts to make it difficult for legitimate voters of various specific demographics in the guise of making sure there isn't fraudulent voting. As @B-Bob has pointed out there are already safeguards in place. They have been effective.

Voting isn't tedious except when Republicans make it so. This isn't the 1800s. Voting fraud is nearly nil. Maybe you should ask your favorite governor to stop arresting people for voting legally - that might help make it less tedious.

Pretty hard if you're one the millions of Americans that don't have internet. Or don't really know how to use it well. Or are elderly or not-tech-savvy and easily defrauded into giving people your SSN and address and allowing them to vote for you. We still have people sending money to Nigerian princes. How well do you think internet voting will go? What happens when Elon posts a link to a fake voting site and you go vote there because you're so gullible?

Why not just use the very easy system we just used in 2020 that had record turnout and made voting incredibly easy? Oh, but "both parties are the same", right?

People like yourself have a million excuses. First, its millions of people dont have internet. Then if they do, they are too stupid to use a website (typical Mayor arrogance here). Lets not forget we need mail in ballots, national holidays (dumbest one yet), too far to vote, voter suppression and intimidation, blah blah blah.

Then on one hand, you claim voting fraud is nil but yet you seem to think there is a whole russian army standing by to defraud elderly people of their vote. Which is it? You constantly go back and forth between the system is perfect and the Republican's are abusing it. You're using the same ignorant twisted logic the Republicans use claiming the election was unfair. Regardless of who wins, the other side always claims foul. Anyone who supports either party blindly are clowns.

A significant problem is that a person can not confirm if their vote was casted the way they intended. For statist like yourself, its always 'trust the government' but no verification. No, I do not trust the grand incompetence of the government. Is it really that hard in the 21st century to create a verification method that can confirm if your vote got counted the way you intended? You seem to think so, which is your acknowledgement the government is indeed incompetent.

This always annoys me about the voter fraud conspiracies. The people who believe and spread the conspiracies clearly have no idea how voting works. Any rando can't just walk in and vote and have that vote counted. Even years ago they asked your name and checked the roll. Last time, I had to show ID and have it match the voter roll.

You are complaining about minimal voter fraud and propose a system that would allow for massive fraud. A system with one access point is much easier to manipulate than a distributed system system with thousands of access points and local checks.
