This is an interesting moment, because the actual racists on the right (and there are many on the left as well) are outing themselves.

Contrary to what DD with his thread and others said, conservatives and right-leaning people are not "primarily racist". It's a small fringe group, and they seem very jealous of successful tech people getting positions of influence in Trump/ administration.

While they might sometimes be right on some things, I find their xenophobia and racism repulsive. Being against illegal immigration doesn't make you a racist, per se. But being against immigration of people with other skin colours because of their skin colour does.

 

I consider this a reasonable, non-racist response to Vivek's position.

I had a friend (son of friends of my parents) in Korea who committed suicide at age 17 because he dien't get into the top university - sad and ridiculous.

They believe having an over priced piece of paper makes them talented and desired. They believe they are entitled to high wages, positive work life balance and an abundance of comforts. Meanwhile, the normies are conflating a different problem. One that consists of companies who abuse the H1B to hire low and/or entry level jobs for lower pay and wage abuse opportunities.

Companies who are on the cutting edge are frustrated because they are wanting certain individuals given H1B's but the process is slow and arduous, often leaving the candidate to pursue other opportunities. The companies who are abusing the H1B do not care who the person is, as long as they are willing to work cheap. There is an endless supply of these people who likely have been waiting years to get in.

So basically the tech companies need a large supply of workers to exploit who will work for lower wages and have no life outside of work to keep up their margins and stock prices? God forbid people like Elon pay more and treat their workers better.

Question: How much does the employees from Musks companies make? If you can't answer this question, then how can you assume Musk underpays his employees?
Question: Why is the application-to-job posting ration one of the highest in industry? Is it because so many people want to be abused for low pay? Your narrative makes zero sense.

Why is it you have a hard time accepting that the average graduate is below mediocre and the highest academic performers still behind the truly gifted people?
