    I saw that the other day on CNBC, I think and busted out laughing. I thought it was going to be a Hyperloop, but it's just a ... loop. I think it's a decent idea, but it's basically drivers driving Teslas as taxis and taking passengers underground around the city (well, eventually). Then, of course, the ubiquitous promise of "it'll be autonomous soon!" Oh yes, and it has disco lights. lol.

    He thinks public transit is for the unwashed masses so he's going to solve this by building small tunnels...for.... cars

    I mean there's so much wrong why even bother engaging seriously. I thought this essay was on point.

    Am I the only one that thinks is a great biz? He's essentially convinced the city to let him build a private road where only his teslas can be used. The moat/barrier to entry for another operator to build another tunnel beneath his is huge, it's effectively a monopoly on fast land transport. I would prefer the space to be used for a higher capacity subway or a public underground tunnel which any car can use, but I guess funding was an issue. For the city's sake I hope the lease period is reasonable and they get to repossess the tunnel to charge rent and/or change operator in future.
