That's fine...or you could make it so that it's a teams winning percentage against the other playoff teams that determines it's seeding. Either way, do you really think it's fair that Nets with a decent but not great record gets to play a team 10 games under .500 while Minnesota with one of the leagues best record has to go through a team 10 games over .500?
Actually this idea was introduced well over a year ago on this board. I'd look for it if I could do a search... Yes, things run in cycles...which is why other sports - college basketball, tennis, soccor - seed teams so that the best teams don't play eachother early in a tournament - so you don't have to wait once a decade to see a compelling finals.
the 1997 season the comets were in the east. they moved to the west in 1998. basically, the wnba had conferences but the 4 teams with the best records made the playoffs and the one with the best record played the one with the worst.
